No issue if you can find all the parts.

Hello, i bought from ebay the monitor in a very good price... And i want to test it if it is working! Do u know how? I have a z4 facelift but the monitor is from the first 2003 models! Do u know if this is a problem? Its necessary the other parts to be from the same years? ex.( The cid and the mk4)? Thank you!!!

All the parts should be compatible. Only way to test though is with all the parts I think unless somebody tries it in their car for you.

You need the computer at least, that is how I tested my original one.

You can not buy the wire loom anymore, you would have to get the X3 wire loom and slightly modify it to fit for the Z4.

MKIV is the best computer which works with DVD, the MK3 version (CD) is technically possible but OEM never came with it.

Ok Ive stated collecting parts for some reason, so fair I've brought a CID radio and a screen. :D

Started to look at sourcing a X3 loom but it looks prices have gone up, dealers are around £200 now and apparently theres just one left in the UK. There is one on eBay buts its used for £120

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-X3-E83-SA ... 1588971804?

is it worth risking buying a used loom :(

I was planing to get this done for around £600 all in but not sure thats possible now

There's more there than just the nav loom. Looks like the audio loom to. I would go with the eBay one and check the loom continuity before fitting, but can't really see any issues.

Hey guys, where did you get the cutting template from? I'm considering a similar mod and I have all the parts, except the cutting template :-)
I want to make sure I have the right one with the indication for the screw holes at the back!

I am also considering retrofitting a nav, as it happens that I can probably buy CID and HU for more less 200quid
but I cant really find the loom anywhere - is it possible that my 06 3.0si is prewired or I need the loom desperately?

Loom wont exist, you can modify one from an X3 or find a used one. Both myself and PVR made our own templates using the monitors as guides.

I am a "newbie"- recent owner of an 04 plate Z4; I am not skilled enough to install a sat nav / blue tooth device- suggestions on best/ most economical place to have this done? Thanks.
