Put in the e85 first, and it's now in the e89.
I researched a few opinions in various motor mags, and opted for
Transcend driver pro 200. Bout £80 a year ago. Has the app to transfer to phone, but not yet used it.
Wire just slips in behind windscreen along the top, and down passenger side, underneath glove box, and straight into lighter socket.
Thanks! You have any photos of your setup and the quality of the footage? I like the cameras but they seem a bit to big for me. I want something discreet that you don't know is there.

Raesy.

There is parking mode - but need to find a fuse that always has power - lighter fuse only when ignition is on.

The fuse I am using at the moment - dies after 20 minutes - but its a real pain in the ass getting the fuse box out - so leaving it were it is.

It is quite a flexible device - and quality is reasonable

My Mobius is just to the left of the mirror and I can't see it from the driver seat at all, the usb wire goeas round the trim out of view, neatly pops across the bottom left corner of the windscreen across the pillar and then down where the door shuts agains the side of the glove box, under the glove box, then along the edge of the trim at the bottom and into the cigarette adapter in the little ash tray, with a micro sized usb cigarette power adaptor and 90deg USB connector. Pretty discrete and captures 10 hours of 1080p video at a time, without ever having to press any buttons on it. Pretty neat.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Still looking for the "Perfect" cam but don't think it exists yet. :D
Have looked at the Thinkware F750 but the size of the thing is putting me off.
The Blackvue DR650GW HD 1CH would be ideal if not for the low bitrate of the videos but haven't ruled out yet.

Stil looking.

Had a few issues with finding a position for the rear view camera and believe this is the best compromise.
Wired it up to the fuse box, and pushed all cables between the windscreen and pillars - so most cables are hidden.
Upgraded to 128Gb Memory card so get over 8 hours of driving been recorded
Thanks for this. The size of the front camera put me off but love the features and your setup looks great.

Looking at the F770 that is soon to be released. Phoned Thinkware Uk this morn and they're expecting delivery soon.

Still undecided though. :D

Not an e89 but this install has me wondering if I could do something just as clean in my e89:

Watched that video some time ago when I was contemplating the Mobius. I have seen others make their own bracket with some metal and magnets stuck to the windscreen or side of mirror housing, both discrete and smaller than the original sticky or suction mount made by them.

For me the Blackvue still stands out as the most discrete with the most features included.

Would love to see more setups in the E89 though!!

Not that discreet though .... I have to hang upside down to see mine behind the mirror. It is just about impossible to see from the outside, and the same from the inside.

Now I see, yes. I did not mount mine in any of the cars on the side, I mounted it behind the mirror though. Difficult to operate, but invisible.

See my problem is all of those 'discrete' mountings are fairly obvious external to the car. I regularly leave my car top down, locked but in view. However, it's not close enough to stop someone from ripping the camera out of the car. So the I say discreet I mean almost invisible & requires effort to remove./
