Hi all,

Wanted to keep a bit of a project thread going, apologies if this is in the wrong place!

So I ended up buying an e89 Z4 28i S Drive. I didn't specifically go out with the intention of buying one, they had only recently appeared on my radar as I didn't realise they were in my budget! But I've always loved an M Sport with the 19" 326's and this one just caught my eye!

I've already got a newbie thread but here's some pics from the dealer...

Quick de badge and stubby aerial fitted and the rear end looks much better!

I've also bought...

- New plain number plates
- New Bosch aero wiper blades

So I should have those today and can get them fitted this afternoon.

I've got the clips in the roll hoops for a wind deflector and a storage bag for a wind deflector but no wind deflector!!! So, are they worth buying? If not, I'm going to buy some hoops without the clips, get the silver bits painted black and be happy!!

I've always lowered my cars but I don't really want to on this one yet... give it 6 months and it'll be on some KW coilovers I'm sure

This is my first automatic car, I've been driving for 12 years and this is my 18th car but it's been so easy to get used to I'm loving it!

What's everyone's thoughts on the black kidney grills? Also, has anyone painted the side scuttle bits where the side repeaters are?

As you can tell I'm not a huge fan of chrome but I don't want to make it look "modified" if you know what I mean!

Anyway, I live in Warlingham and originally from Dorking so I'm sure I'll meet you all at the next meet in January!

Sounds like you have a full on plan there, good luck with it all

Can't offer much input on it myself I'm afraid, but wanted to say hello to another surrey lad! I grew up in Ashtead before moving devon way so know Dorking well

Oh nice! I love Devon and now I have a car my girlfriend won't mind being in for a long drive I hope to get down at some point next year!

Plan is to just enjoy it!

Hi and welcome to the forums

Lovely looking car you've got there. I fitted an OEM wind deflector as soon as I got my car and it makes a big difference to me, although I have my roof down in all weathers :driving: As you've got the clips already you might be able to try someone else's near you before deciding or if I can make the Jan meet your welcome to try mine, I'm sure it will fit

Ah nice one

I've not got any hair but as I've got the clips there I want to either fit one or get hoops without the clips!

I'm pro wind deflectors! I don't have the later chrome repeaters but I have seen pictures on threads on here where people have painted them black to go with black grilles.
You could always swap them for the older simpler ones as the repeaters sell for about or over£100 on eBay. Viv

Has anyone bought the eBay ones? I need to go to BMW so I'll get a price on genuine ones as I'd prefer not to worry if they're going to fit or not!

Lovely E89 on the right alloys too
Gloss black grilles will look great against the white.

Thanks Marlon! I think they will as well but I don't want anything that isn't going to fit perfectly!

I also have a really bad OCD so I'll need to get rid of the chrome side repeaters and silver roll hoops!

Thank you!

Yes, I'm loving it!

I'm trying to find out more about it, specifically the engine, the different modes, etc as it seems louder in Sport mode, the throttle becomes very sensitive, suspension becomes stiffer and the steering feels heavier but I'd just like to know the specifics of exactly what and by how much it changes!

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for subtle mods others have done without going over the top! I'm trying to resist lowering it at the moment!!!

I think I'm going to buy some new roll hoops and spray them black to get rid of the brackets I have for the wind deflector I don't have!!

Need to get the speaker sorted.

Keeping the thing clean is fun! I've booked a day off work next week to give it a proper "detail", I'd like to paint the calipers / disc bells silver or black as they're on show so much and they don't look too great.

Has anyone fitted the BMW Performance 4 pot brakes from a 1 series? Complete set on eBay for £1000. Wondered if they're a straight fit or not.

Very nice! Which colour of white is it?
