Some things are just amazing. To think, as we sit here chatting, there is a man made object 1.4 billion km away taking photographs, at our behest. Just blows me away to think about it if I'm honest. 8)

 Give us a wave next time you're there. I'll point my wee telescope that way and see if I can spot you.

By the way. The site fee's in Cornwall are Astronomical. :exitright:

It all falls into place now mat - ur using the physics dept as a testbed for your rear-mounted turbo shennanigans and have the students performing cfd and matlab calculations. Clever!

Fantastic.

As an engineer I appreciate the technology involved but to see results like this is truly mind blowing.

As Marlon says, great mpg! :D

Brilliant, great shot. My favourite is this one from the Moon if you believe that NASA went there and not filmed it in Hollywood backlot  :)

Give it a few generations and our great grand kids might be able to buy a drone, for a few days wages, that they can send up to take that shot. The good news it only takes a signal 1.3s each way. 8)

1.4 billion km though. Even light takes 1.3 hours each way. :o With our current understanding of what is possible, that's always going to be a fekin long way. Lets just hope we have bits of the science wrong right now.
