Although making something look carbon fibre by using carbon fibre is going to look the best, in my mind it is ultimately still not carbon fibre and sure to be a lot of money. It seems a shame to break the pattern by having pretend or superficial carbon.

With that I think I'd probably go down the body colour road.

Lovely car

Hi Herminator
Like your thinking on the feature pin stripe.
Things have moved on and I've had them sprayed in body colour at the same time as the bumper cover. It was only £50 extra so just got it done

I have a conundrum now to solve. The extensions are fastened in with short hex pan head bolts from inside the sill. Each extension has 14 threaded riv nuts cast in. No markings in the sill to drill so what's the correct way to template and mark the sill?
I can think of thin card taped to the extension. Pierce holes then transfer the card to the sill while trapped in the correct location. Tape card to the sill and mark the drill points through the pierced holes
Need to be mm perfect ...
Thoughts??

I'm not total sure I picture it, but can you make a 'cast' of the car sill using a few good layers of baking foil and offer that that you to your extension to get the hole points? Then use that for marking up?

So the bumper project stalled slightly as having had it sprayed rebuilt and a second test fit, I need a couple of new factory bits that are on backorder so focussed on the sill extensions.

Sprayed them body colour too for near zero extra with the bumper, so went that route and fitted today

Template really was a nightmare but in the end used double sided tape stuck to the extension. Punched holes in it where the bolts sockets were and then mated to the sill and moved the tape from extension to sill and then drilled the correct holes to the marks on the tape. 29 of the 30 were within 1mm and one was 2-3mm out so needed a bit of fettling...

You're also so lucky with a Zed to get a sill off. The F has 8 scrivets underneath, 3 torx under the wheel arches, 3 pop rivets underneath, 1 door seal, a tread plate, I piece of plastic door trim and finally 20 assorted torx bolts and scrivets around the door frame and 2 plastic clamps like a Z4 bumper to undo

Couple of before and after shots and yes they are body colour just the light:
I really like them and they emphasis the lines of the car, but feel free to comment

Fitted the SVR front end this morning and while it's no where near as simple as an ///M it's a feasible task with new undertray, look and airflow changes

Anyway - here's a few shots, which I think with the sill extensions has really made the car look right and is making me grin when I look st it :):

Cause you can come over. Home all week except Thurs. just let me know when.

Remaped can make 450. Larger pulley on the crank pulley can get 20+
Realistically I think 450 is a reliable goal, but with 380 stock I'm happy enough for now :)
