Edited with additional information - 8th July 2017
Hello all interested parties
My new M240i arrives in a couple of weeks so I am a very happy chap indeed.
Downside is I have to sell my Z4 to help pay for it!
The Z4 is a September 2003 3.0 (M54) 6-speed manual in Titan Silver with black leather interior.
It has the Sports suspension and Sport button though it is not actually a Sport so has the flatter, (more comfortable for me!) seats.
It's an excellent car that we really like owning and driving. It drives as you would hope and everything works as it should.
60,000 miles shown, which I believe to be correct.
MoT history shows
39,593 in January 2009
45,205 in Feb 2010
48,797 in July 2012
51,453 in July 2013
53,135 in July 2014
53, 593 in August 2015
57,372 in August 2016
I have the service history but it is not as detailed as I would like. I am the tenth owner, though a few previous owners were at the same address.
I bought it nearly two years ago, at 53,000 miles and in that time I have:
Had a full service and check at Birds Garage - not long after I'd bought it but long enough to see what might need sorting out.
Service, front wishbone bushes, ARB link rods by Birds Garage at 53,958 miles, November 2015.
I also checked all the things you're supposed to check according to just about internet expert note and YouTube video I could find (!)
Including but not limited to:
Correctly accessing the roof area drain plugs to clear blockage etc (both sides were completely clear anyway)
Make sure the chassis tubes can drain properly (jacking pads can block the drains)
Lubricate all the steering column UJs (original steering column)
Roof motor has been expertly (thank you again, Ross!) re-located into the boot and covered.
(It was dry, clean and working perfectly in its original position but so many owners seem to get this done...)
Replaced the front shocks at 55,490 miles.
Replaced all four discs and four sets of pads (now sports Brembo grooved discs and Brembo pads) not long after.
Replaced the front brake callipers at 57,372 miles.
Most recently (in April this year, at 58,604 miles) the front track rods and an ABS sensor were replaced, all the suspension freed-off and 4-wheel tracking adjustment carried-out.
This week, Birds replaced the thermostat and housing as it had the tiniest leak.
From the BMW spec sheet, it has:
BMW remote locking/alarm system.
Chrome line interior.
18" 2-pce staggered alloys (108) with Bridgestone runlets all round.
Hardtop preparation.
Wind deflector.
Electric roof.
Velour mats.
Warning triangle.
Auto-anti-dazzle rear view mirror.
Smokers package.
Electric seat adjustment with memory.
Front (!) driver and passenger seat heating.
Headlight Washer System.
Park Distance Control.
Rain Sensing Wipers.
Automatic AirConditioning.
BMW Business Radio/Cd Player.
6-CD Changer.
HiFi System Professional.
M-Sport Suspension.
Driving Dynamics Control (whatever that is - assume it's the Sport button?)
Sports Leather Steering Wheel.
Foglight's.
On-Board Computer.
Being picky:
Leading edge of bonnet has been resprayed in the past, presumably to cover stone chipping.
3rd brake light is cracked.
Small dent in passenger door - you don't notice it at first as it is masked by the shape of the door anyway.
Asking price is £5,500.
There's room to haggle but I won't be too upset if it doesn't sell so please understand that I will not entertain "very low offers".
If you are interested, please call and we can arrange a viewing either at my work (near Iver Heath) or home (near Marlow)
I will gladly take you out for a drive but there will be no test drives without written, original proof of ID and appropriate insurance cover.
