Trunk soft closer has stopped working; any comments please

I had a problem where the wires to the micro switches had broken inside due to a manufacturing fault.
The wires are the loops you see on the left and right and flex as the motors run.
I did write the cure on this site, but can't find it right now.
If you lift the boot and run a screw driver shaft where the boot would lock down the two motors should run and try and lock then lift badge to reset.
It's easy to take apart if you are a bit handy.
