Firstly, forgive me if this has all been done before. I haven't visited the forum in a while... but a couple of years back when I was a frequent visitor here, I kinda accepted that G29s were still a bit new and maybe a bit too expensive to see traded in a forum. But the model has been around for...
I scuffed a wheel yesterday :headbang: and went today to get a quote for a refurb. The only surprise was a £9 charge for a "TPMS service kit". Normal or not? Are there components in a TPMS equipped wheel that automatically need replacement in such circumstances?
Thanks for the response, Dave. That's useful. Yes it seems I have TPM with metal valve stems and a similar iDrive display to you though WITHOUT the actual pressure readings - see photo. What do I need to do to code these readings? That's actually what I thought I was missing (the handbook says...
I know already from questions asked here previously that my 2015 20i MSport 'should' have TPMS but after an alert popped up today I still have doubts and wonder if my sensors could have been swapped for something earlier before I bought the car. My wheels have 2015 embossed on them so they at...
I've finally stopped procrastinating & ditched the Bridgestone runflats for MPS4S all round. on my 2015 E89. Very happy with the way it has transformed the ride.
I went for same size (225/35 R19) at front but 255/35 R19 instead of 255/30 R19 at the rear. The fitters had inflated all 4 to 36psi...

Sorry to read this. I always rather admired this guy. Often managed not to get things quite right (that "car") but had some ideas that were pretty groundbreaking for their time.
Firstly a heads up that Amazon have a “VonHaus” DA polisher kit reduced to £60 in their current sale for a few days.
But… are they any good? Worth the money? And perhaps most importantly how easy are they likely to be for a complete novice? Anyone got experience of this particular product and /...
I've touched on this issue a couple of times in previous threads - but one issue that makes ditching runflats difficult on my E89 is that a lot of breakdown cover becomes invalid if you do so. When you delve into the small print (as you should) typically they insist on whatever the manufacturer...
I'm curious to know if anyone here ever tries to fix small blemishes themselves? I've a wheel that recently got (ever so mildly) kerbed...but it seems way too trivial to get it refurbished. Yet I'm probably a bit too OCD to ignore it :D
Any thoughts or tips?
I seem to be stuck getting NCS Expert working.
Standard Tools is installed on a laptop (Win10) following the readme instructions in the BimmerGeeks download. All seemed to complete OK.
K+DCAN cable configured on COM1, latency =1. I can plug this into the car & INPA 'sees' the cable and reports...
Always been curious about this marque. Once had a ride in one as a passenger (& was impressed at the time).
Many seem to be cheap as chips secondhand.
So ...any good? What to look for? What to avoid?
Today tinkering with the car in my garage I was having difficulties reassembling the door lock /bowden cable with poor visibility and cramped working space and needed to turn the car around to put it back to together.
Since I couldn't technically fully lock the door in place, I found a bit of...
I'm weighing whether to replace my RFTs yet and research here & elsewhere raises as many questions as answers. You're a helpful bunch though so i hope you might be able to shed some light. :D
#1 Since I'd prefer to keep the 19in 326Ms is a decent quality non-RFT (I'm thinking Michelin PS4S)...
Well that was surprising.
I just called my insurer (LV) to find out the likely extra premium for a 280bhp remap on my 2015 2.0i Auto.
Answer = the princely sum of £17.30 per year.
So that won't be holding me back...
