It's an option in your account settings... you can set it to auto sub to threads you make and also threads you post in. You can also set whether you want an alert or an email.

Tbh I don't see me doing this one... the vast majority of people use mobile nowadays , and of those who use desktop they have it in a window anyway. I have other priorities of things I want to fix.

I cant see a way of doing that. It is an option on the language pack for the forum but doesn't seem to be a user based option.
