Yes they all corrode there, it's only light surface rust. No need to replace at all, just rub it down, treat with rust cure, primer and then paint, dead easy.
Few pics for inspiration!
I've been suffering with a dropped windshield frame cover for a while, i've seen a few others on the forum with the same problem......rattles like hell! The cover shields the electric motor that fastens down the roof to the windshield, part no6 in the diagram
This is what it should look like...
The gear change between 2nd, 3rd and 4th became significantly poor, feeling very notchy and making a noticeable clicking sound.
My immediate thought was something amiss with the linkages/bearings and not the gearbox.
The easiest one to check first is the lever bearing/bush as shown in the...
Spot of painting in the engine bay, got rid of spots of rust, isopon primer, gloss black top coat(had a partial used can already in the garage) and finished off with some stainless bolts.
Yesterday I bolted on a new H&R rear anti roll bar to replace the poorly fitting whiteline...the H&R fits spot on. Many UK suppliers will tell you that they can only be bought as a kit, which is blatantly not true! I have the part number and contact name at H&R for ordering if anyone else...

The bowden cable pushes in a brass pin - see pic. This pin activates the release valve but due to oxidisation it sticks in even when the cable is returned to its position, so not matter what you do it will never build up hydraulic pressure. A bit of wd40 and pushing it in and out a...
Fitted new brake shoes on the offside, did the nearside a few weeks back after they fell apart and disintegrated. Then painted rear hubs and calipers, fronts tomoz.

What tips do you have? Pics would be appreciated
