The eccentric shaft sensor bites again! Mine had the same issue, again with no tell-tale signs (not even a CEL). Thankfully it did throw some codes (some german compound noun for eccentric shaft and plausibility). Out of interest did you get any codes on this?

It could be a whole host of things to be honest. Best thing to do at this stage is to purchase a C110 reader and let it tell you what the problem is. They cost about £35. Report back with the codes and then you can direct your time and money on fixing it rather than further dianognostics!
