Drivers window not working properly? Stuck/Slowly moving.

Having an issue with my drivers window. This morning it was very slow to go down and back up. But now it seems to be only moving a bit at a time and refuses to go right back up. I can grab the glass with my hand and pull it all the way up but it then just sinks back down again. Also, the...

The dreaded handbrake teeth issue!!! HELP!!!

Hi all, Had my 2006 2.5 in for its MoT. It's failed on the handbrake not holding the car in situ. Garage is going to investigate further tomorrow, but I'm dreading the news that it's the common ratchet teeth wear issue. I vaguely recall while back reading that you can get into it from the...

    Carly Gen 2 OBD Reader

Carly Gen 2 OBD reader. 'As new' condition (although no original box, sorry). These white Carly modules are only compatible with Android devices via Bluetooth, not iOS so wont work with an iPhone or iPad apparently. You will require a Carly subscription to use it, obviously 8) £40 including...

What are faulty DISA symptoms on an N52?

Hi all, I've noticed over the last week or so a randomly appearing rattling noise from my E85 2.5. It's a 2006 with the N52 engine and has covered 161k miles. It appears randomly and only for a few seconds at a time then vanishes. Sometimes it won't do it again for a few hours then will come...

Exhaust tips sizes and where to buy?

Hi all, Looking for stainless exhaust tips for my 2006 E85 2.5 N52. Read in a few posts here about ones on Amazon which seem to be decent, but the post I read linked to some which were 68mm diameter- these don't seem to be available anymore. I found identical ones on Amazon apart from the...

What have you done to your car today?

What have you done to your car today?

Replaced the cigarette lighter with a dual USB charger. Easy enough to do, remove centre trim panel, undo wiring then remove lighter and wiring. The existing hole needed enlarging slightly by means of a sharp craft knife, then the dual charger fitted in. Connect the black and red wires up (had...

Any Z4 owning motorbike riders out there?? What's your ride?

Old girl flew threw her MoT earlier this week. She's been sat up on the paddock stands in the garage pretty much since Covid kicked in a couple of years ago. Been using my K1300S for two wheeled duties but this old beauty can still hustle. I had forgotten just how utterly brutal the power...

Mid-box delete or custom backbox questions?

Had my 2006 2.5 N52 since last August time. Still love the car and I'm considering a mid-box delete to get a bit more of a fruity soundtrack from it. Don't want to annoy the neighbours but fancy something just a little bit more from the tone. I have read that a mid-box delete is worth looking...

Aux Port - What can you use it for?

I've just found an AUX port is fitted to my 2006 Z4, under the heater controls above the ashtray. Never even noticed it before and I've had the car for nearly a year! Given that most phones these days don't have the ability to plug cables into ports on them (I have an iPhone XR and it has...

Had a flat battery, now got these dashes on the radio where the clock should be?

Flat battery, replaced it. But now this shows up on both the dash and the radio where the clock should be? Everything appears to work and there doesn't seem to be a way to set the clock using the usual procedure?

Jacking the E85 and using axle stands: Tips?

Hi folks, what is the best way to jack up an E85? I heard folk say there are things to watch out for in terms of jack placement (using pieces of wood to spread the load on the sills?) and also there are centre positions underneath you can jack from. I have a decent low profile trolley jack and...

What have you done to your car today?

Went out at the weekend for a hoon with the roof down. Drove the usual route through Perthshire and the Trossachs in Scotland that I'd normally take on the bike. Nice and relaxing drive although did put the foot down a good few times :D

What have you done to your car today?

Finally moved my bikes from my old place to our new house into the garage next to the Roadster - Two Germans and an Italian!!. Got the Z4 in there too although the garage needs a good clear out so there is more space to move around the car and bikes for maintenance

    More topless shots in Scotland

Had an unexpected free day today and was feeling a bit lousy so decided to get the top down and take in some fresh air with a short run along the Fife coastal route. Dull and overcast but good to get out and the air did me good. Car now filthy though and also the photos reminded me that I really...
