Change oil and filter you need a ramp, follow instructions carefully, if that doesn’t cure it find a S/H replacement with lower milage car, or run it until it expires it has done over 120k already.

Has the car really done 120k in 5 yrs or so, that’s a lot, the gearbox does need oil and filter ar 60k or so £750 sounds high for parts and an hours work, the change points are controlled by the cars computer, if there is an internal problem it’s a specialist job and expensive.
