Something enclosed, like this that I am using, but made in CF might sound pretty good. Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr

Damo's E86 for road and track

Been a while since Anglesey now, life has got in the way of a proper write-up. Started the night before at the pub/hotel with the lads, a load of beer and a damn good laugh was had. Next morning off to the track, perfect sunny weather. It was a hot day, peaking at about 24 degree in the...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Took the car for an alignment check today, it's necessary after all that work, but I'd also been playing with the ride height and the steering wheel was pointing to 11 o'clock. It looks worse on paper than it actually is :o Unfortunately, they didn't have the time to align it themselves and...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Why do I do it to myself!! Next track day is booked for the 30th of April, with one week to go I decided to change the drivers driveshaft as there was a split in the boot and most of the grease had exited stage left. Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr Unfortunately, we ran into issues...

Damo's E86 for road and track

So, bit of an update.... Managed to find a garage near me that rents out their 2 post lift for £75 for the day. Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr I had a massive list of things to do, but the blinking exhaust bolts took me 1.5 hours to sort on their own :headbang: Untitled by Damien...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Got round to changing my rather used rear pads! Replaced them with the same spec EBC Bluestuff. The ones coming out lasted 2 and a bit track days, have worn quicker than the front (no i don't use TCS/DSC on track) and at Bedford have turned colour from a lovely blue to a black and grey. Oh...

ABS Issue - rear left wheel skidding under heavy braking

What year/engine etc is your Z4 and do you know the part numbers on your ABS pump? I've had a spongy pedal recently and didn't want it code in a new ABS module, especially as for mine they are so expensive. I found one from a E9x 3 series and swapped the electronics over. Plugged it in and away...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Couple of weeks since the last track day but I've been crazy busy with work. Great day at Bedford. The plan was to see if the brakes could hold up to a day on track and Bedford is the perfect place to test brakes with multiple high speed stops on the lap. Early start and on the road for...

    Wheel Spacers

I bought some off ebay as I always have but also went to a stud and nut kit which makes changing wheels so so so much easier especially when you have spacers too. Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr Spacers: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361041625401 Stud and Nut...

    Wheel Spacers

I run 20mm front and rear without any issues, stock camber at the front but lowered on eibach springs. Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr Wheels are exactly the same specs as stock Z4 18's I've also run spacers on multiple cars on both road and track without any extra running issues, or...

    3.0Si Roadster Rear Diff options

If you look at the sticker on the diff it'll tell you the ratio, afaik all the 6 cylinder Z4's ran the 188k diff which needs a specific LSD or machining to fit one from a 188. I've just bought an upgraded and rebuilt ZF plated LSD with 6 plates from a e36 and had it fitted to a case with a 3.73...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Well.....the Volve part didn't work  Can you spot the difference? Volvo top, Z4 bottom Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr So, I managed to find one from a 3 Series using the part numbers in the thread i linked above, this one looks more promising Untitled by Damien Bower, on...

Damo's E86 for road and track

Not much of an update but loads of stuff is about to happen! Haven't really covered many miles but did try to do a trackday at Donington in December.....it didn't go well :headbang: Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr A week before the trackday i changed my master cylinder again for an ATE...

    BMW E92 325i 2006 Auto

2006 325i BMW E92 Automatic N52 – 135,900 miles - MOT till 15th of Sept 2025 - ULEZ Free This car is in very good condition and shouldn't be confused with most of the cars on the market. Damo's E86 for road and track

Since Anglesey, not a lot has happened with the Z4 I bought a Febi master cylinder to replace the dead one on the car. That was a mistake. Since fitting it I've had to bleed the brakes every week, its obviously faulty. Now there is an ATE one in its place and all is good with the brakes again...

    Wheel Spacers on an E86

It will depend on a few factors including your camber. Lowered on Eibach springs I found 20mm all round to be perfect on wheels with the exact specs of MV2's Untitled by Damien Bower, on Flickr

Damo's E86 for road and track

Apologies, at the moment there is no link. I posted on the Facebook pages a few weeks ago asking about brake ducts for an LCI. A guy got in contact saying he'd made some for himself and would I like to try the second pair he'd made to test them with a view to him making them to sell. Here is...

Damo's E86 for road and track

So onto the track day. Early start at 5am and first time driving the car at motorway speed since playing with the steering...all I can say is that's it is fixed, but now the wheel is less likely to self return so i maybe need to take it back a few mm. Arrived at Anglesey, put the car in the...
