Anyone ever had a Z4 windcreen replaced?

My screen has been pebbledashed with so many tiny stone chips, looks a right mess when driving during the day. Thinking about getting a new one but I'm concerned about how well they do the job - I don't want putty showing around the edges and the weather strip replaced wonky etc.

Any thoughts?

i had mine replaced just before christmas.

first time they came, the glass they brought was distorted and didn't fit properly. was a pikey make.

second time they came, they fitted the wrong one (didn't have the sunstrip that my standard bmw one had). pilkington one this time.

third time they came, they fitted the right windscreen, but it kept misting up in one particular spot, and the black rubber trim around it cracked. they had used a pattern part trim which, when fitted, was too tight.

forth time they came, they finally got their act together and sorted everything out.

auto windscreens. cowboys

Autoglass did mine last year, first time, no hassle.

Having a chip repaired this Friday. Though they're on the fence about if a new screen is needed, but with my 60% AA discount it's £250 give or take for a new windscreen with rain sensor... that about right?

CarGlass did mine two years ago, because there was a slight leak on the left side. (not a damaged car, just the windscreen not fitted properly).

Once they were done problem was resolved. However, I got an even larger leak on the right side in return ... :x Would not say this for many issues, but for this I would go to the stealers the next time I need one ...

Had mine done about 3 weeks ago.. Went through insurance and they gave me National Windscreens.. Pikeys!! They came down with the wrong windscreen twice!! First was the coupé screen not the softop.. Then they had 1 with the rain sensor! Mine doesnt have 1!

Rang up insurance told them 2 sort it out.. Within 4 days AA had come and done it and took him best part of 45 minutes.. Although he was a bit of a miserable git :-)

i had to have mine done as it cracked. it was national that did it.

they fitted the right screen first time but i wasnt happy with it. it didnt leak or anything but looked wrong, whistled above 50 and then i found a scratch on it.

i took it back and they replaced it no questions and did a really good job of the second one.

I had the AA fit mine a few years ago. Fitted the coupe screen first time round. I questioned the fitter when he finished saying somethings wrong as the mirrors far to low. He tried to say there all like that,
Any way phone the AA and spoke to a lady who confirmed they have fitted the wrong screen. Luckily it was someone else who came out the next time to fit the replacement.
