Hello,
I've been a member of the forum for a long time. Having previously owned a E85 2.5si convertible in silver grey with black leather and piano black dash. It was a lovely car and I missed it as soon as I sold it.
My other half had a black ///M roadster with ivory leather. This was a bit of a garage queen and with a company 320d on the driveway we decided to sell the Z's and get a four seater convertible. Along came a 2015 Sepang blue S5 convertible. Whilst it's a very good car, its a little soulless and clinical. However, it's been to Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal and bought us back with two dogs and all our luggage with no issues at all.
However, we both agree that we just enjoy the look and feel of a two seater roadster and wanted to change. The tech in the Audi is getting on a bit now and so the search began.
Long story, ever so slightly shorter, we decided after lots of research and reading, we liked the look of the new Z4 but needed to look at one in the flesh and test drive one.
Now, having read all the posts under the G29 section I see that the new Z4 seems to divide opinion. However, I feel that in the flesh they are squat, muscular and look good. The cabin isn't cramped and the tech is fantastic. We went to test drive a sold car at our local dealer and then to see a frozen grey one that was promised 'as new'; and had done 1350 miles. Thankfully, it was scratched and somebody had tried to remove a mark on the bonnet and made the paint shiny. So that was a definite no. White, no, blue, done that, black, no....so that leaves red. Not usually a colour I would consider but the choices are limited.
The search began and on Saturday we went to see a red one at a dealer in the Cotswolds. Now, this car was registered in February 2019 and has all options. It turns out that its done 10.1 miles from new. It also means there's approx a £16k saving from what it would have been new.
I know, 'depreciation, you shouldn't buy one, the inside being all black is boring, etc etc but it's just what we're after and we can't wait to pick it up on Saturday and start enjoying it.
Pics from the dealer below and Ill upload more once we have it here. Mods, if this should be in the 'gallery' section then please feel free to move it.
