I have two poorly sim85’s (safety control modules) that suffered failures during programming. They are both communicating to diagnostics and have a status 12.
However when trying to reflash/program every process I try fails with a 2020 error ‘can’t communicate with module’ or 200 ‘can’t read ECU number’
For reference ive used both D-CAN and WinKFP which I’ve successfully flashed and coded many modules previously. I’ve also tried with my iCOM and ISTA-P.
So I’m at a point where I’m starting to think how I can bench test these off the car. I’ve been able to read the EEProm and I’m going to try to write directly with a known working file.
I’m also wonder how to go about finding the memory locations of the modules.
If anyone’s got any experience or knows where I could find out more I’d appreciate some pointers.
