change or not

I am assuming that to have 18" tyres you would have to change the 19" rims?

I don't mind the firmer ride although it is significantly stiffer than my 35is even when that was in sport or adaptive, but the wife comments quite often that it doesn't ride as well and is less comfortable. Don't use sport mode when she is in the car. Much to harsh.

Just out of interest for anyone with a M40i, do these have the same stiff suspension as my M30i Sport?

I have m40i. I haven't driven 30i yet so can't comment on the difference. Considering the M40i has more power, I assume M40i's suspension should be firmer than 30i.

However, I find the M40i in comfort mode is quite comfortable in general unless the road is really bad or the speed bump is too big. Sport or sport+ is indeed too firm.

I am picking my 30i Msport up on Monday. It has 18s fitted, no adaptive suspension.

The current tyres will need replacing sometime soon, so I was hoping to see the summer through with the current rubber and then fit winter tyres on the 18s, then in Spring get a new set of 19s with summer tyres.

Is the ride quality so much worse on 19s (I know that's subjective, just after opinions), if so I may just get new rubber now and get winter tyres to swap over to every winter.

Happy with mine especially on the new rubber although I do tend to run on adaptive most if not all the time

Test drove a M40i with 18” and an other one with 19”, didn’t notice much difference. Definitely better (in all modes) than e89 sdrive without adaptive suspension :driving: :driving:
