Creator 310 plus scanner

Does anyone know whether this scanner will register a new battery. Not for my e85 but my daily series 1 BMW. I have looked on various sites and some say yes whilst others say no. Thought I would ask the real experts on here. It's a like for like replacement so no programming required, just registration. Thanks

No it cannot code batteries I’m afraid. The second poster has an E85 which doesn’t need coding anyhow.

The Creator 410 seems to do more things. You can order it from Amazon, and if it doesn't do battery registration, you can send it back. I have an Ancel BM700, double the price, that will register a battery.

Well it seems it did register the battery on my series 1 despite saying it couldn't find it. My local garage confirmed it with their more sophisticated equipment. It seems a ploy by BMW to make you take your car into the main dealer. All the fault lights came on the dashboard after swapping over, another ploy by BMW to stop you doing anything on the car. The creator cleared all these.
As the cars get older the Chinese crack the codes used by BMW and garage equipment get round it, but not on the new cars where you have to use main dealers even to change a lightbulb.

I've tried registering a new battery with c310+. The device let's me select the option then it just goes back to the main menu. Is this the issue you had Mike6 but it still registered the battery?

I've replaced my 70Ah with a 76Ah so I guess it needs coding aswell? Is this something the c310+ will do with rhe firmware update?

Yes, the creator has the facility to register a new battery but when you do it comes back as failed or something similar. My local garage used their equipment and said it had registered but only when they accessed it through a different menu.
A ploy by BMW to get you to take the car to them and charge a fortune for a few minutes work. If in doubt take car to an indie and see if they will check for you .

I have the Creator c410 which has the battery registration option on the box (I havent needed to try it as I previously owned an E85 and E86).

However I would invest in an Autophix over a Creator, the code reading is so much easier and quicker.
