Dashboard light - Airbags

If there was one thing about these cars I would say sensors keep failing. Still trying to track down EML faults and running with MAF unplugged and now the airbags symbol lights up on the dashboard.
I have the creator fault finder but cannot see anything for airbags?. Any suggestions where I might start looking. Thanks

It should be in supplementary restraint system (srs)

I have a few modules should you need one

Thanks enuff. Should have scrolled down further on the creator. It says low voltage as a problem but when I clear code the red light stays on dashboard. Start car up a few times and airbags light still on even though code reader says no faults.
Is that the module. If so thanks can I purchase one from you.

Prefacelift?
Centre module or left or right satellite?
Have you been jump starting it?
The centre module has a voltage thingummy inside which boosts the power to various parts of it. Looks like a tiny coil. Had a few recently that have failed. I think the code is 93DB?
Firstly you need to get the part number and find one that is exchangeable on Realoem. Left and right modules are under the carpet at the rear of the sills. Centre one is just visible if you remove the coin holder behind the hand brake.
Once you get one it needs to be coded with the vin and system time.
Can’t remember where you are based but I do offer a full supply fit and code service if I have a compatible one.
Think I’d suggest a more comprehensive code read first before you waste time and money though

Why is everything so complicated. It's a prefacelift 2.5 se. Did go over a couple of heavy speed bumps before light came on after restarting to drive home. Fairly sure my creator just had low voltage before I reset and nothing about left or right. Light stays on but code reader says no faults now. How do I go about a more comprehensive reading.
I am in west Sussex.
Thanks

I had similar last weekend. One code reader saw nothing but another one did. Which Creator is it?
Hopefully someone closer to you will read this as I’m not heading that way for a while.
If all else fails though let me know.

If you could even just get the three part numbers I could potentially head down with them all and see what’s what. (Assuming I have the right ones)

Thanks enuff. I have the creator 310plus. I have been reading that you need to drill down into the sub menus to find out what exactly is wrong and then try resetting to switch off light or at least that's the theory. Just resetting on the main menu appears not to be enough

Let me know how you get on

I had this come on twice and each time I scrolled down to “clear fault” I think and the light went out and hasn’t come back since. Mine is the creator 410.

Enuff, went down all the categories under Body and sure enough under SBSR ( Satellite,B-pillar right) there was a fault code reading 98F6 Resistance, firing circiut, safety battery terminal(E85), or seat belt tensioner, rear right(E6x) too high.
I reset and the light has gone out. Wont be using the car for a few days so light could come straight back.
I had gone over (slowly) a few high speed bumps in very high temperature just before parking and the light came on when I restarted car.
Is there anything I should be investigating ?
Thanks

Be odd for a bump to upset it.
Possibly a slightly loose connection under the seat?
Won’t know unless it comes back.
On the plus side the SBSR seems easier to source than the SBSL. If you get a chance, pull back the carpet at the rear of the right inner sill and get me a photo of the label on the module. If I have a spare I’ll keep it to one side for a while

You haven’t had the seat out recently have you? Maybe disturbed the plug and the bump moved it enough to cause a glitch?

No drivers seat hasn't been removed but I did read on an ancient thread that a tall driver had his seat on the lowest position, got the dreaded airbag light and found the cable under the seat was snagged, so will check thanks

Hi Enuff
Having coded out the SBSR error code, I took the car out yesterday for a reasonable run with a few stops and each time I restarted the car the airbag light reappeared. Only way to keep it off was to code out the error with engine running but then after turning off the ignition it reappeared on start up.
I have accessed the module and it appears in good condition so no corrosion on any of the pins. It looks new. There are a few numbers on the unit. SBSR 220 4353-58 0503 is possibly the pertinent one ? just above the bar code.
My cars MOT is due on 16 August so if you have a module might you be in West Sussex prior to that. I have seen a vid which suggest you can keep light out with a resister across two pins in the unit next to the battery, will this work to buy some more time if you are not around before 16 Aug.
Alternatively I have been reading a current thread about this including instructions on how to match the module to the cars VIN. Its all gobligook to me but my son who is a bit of an IT wizz had a read and thought he could do it . Might I be able for a fee make contact with you as he does the necessary coding.
If you didnt have the module I could buy a couple of second hand ones hoping that one of them will not have been as a result of airbag activation.
Thanks

I think I have you covered.
1x 7504
2x 2888
5x 0300
1x 5158

You'd like to think one of those would work!!!

So whereabouts are you exactly? Wondering if I could plan it around a visit to see my old man in Littlehampton?

I have never heard about the pins trick tbh?
For the coding you need the correct cable and the Eidebas suite of software on a laptop.

Happy to help over the phone if needed, but it could be a good excuse for me to come down anyway.

Thinking further on this, there have been occurrences where a loose battery connection has caused an airbag light, hence the mention of 'safety battery terminal'. However, I'm not sure how this would affect only one of the modules?
But bearing in mind the speed bump scenario, I would definitely double check the battery and it's connections are all perfectly secure.

You could also try the old trick of disconnecting the battery for half an hour and seeing if that will reset it?
