Finally pushed the sports button

Had my 10 year old low mileage 2.5 Zed a couple of months now but with the overcrowded potholed roads her in Sussex I have only driven sedately. Took car out for a spin along the south coast on Sunday and was poodling along about 70mph on a dual carriageway when I remembered I hadn't yet tried sports mode. Must say I have driven a few fast cars in my time but as soon as I pushed the button the car shot off without even touching the throttle and I was doing 90 mph in a matter of seconds. I am not a speed freak but wow I thought the car was on rocket fuel.
I think I was on a high the rest of the day !!

When you turn the sport button on, it doesn't increase throttle sensitivity until you let off the throttle and step back on. It will, however, decrease throttle sensitivity when you turn it off without throttle movement. Safety feature I believe.. people would probably use it like a turbo button lol

No extra power is gained from using the sport button, it increases the rate of throttle opening to pedal movement making it just feel faster :)

That's not true. It gives you an extra 300 BHP and spoilers automatically rise up front and rear.!! :driving:

I meant no extra power apart from the extra 300 BHP of course :D

I used to use on my old zed all the time just for the heavier steering.

Hardly use it now, certainly not round town.

In the auto gearbox sport holds each gear longer which does help the acceleration and everything feels more sensitive and sharper. Also find it gets more MPG for some reason. Not to mention more fun and noise

When I am out with paulgs1000 my 2.5 sport always has the sport button on as a necessary requirement.

Every single time i drive my Coupe I push the sport button. I wish it could stay on as default.
I like the steering response much more with it engaged.
