Got my new E86 absolutely thrilled

Few members here have owned it so it feels like it's staying in the family which is cool, it's absolutely beautiful.

Totally in love with it, and the way it dropped in my lap is absolutely insane luck, a story no one will believe so won't bore you with it but I'd just like to thank Street for selling it to me, and looking after me in regards to picking it up and getting it all serviced.

Absolute legend.

Looking forward to many happy years with it.

Stunning, congratulations.
Rare amarone is such a good colour especially matched with silver grey.
Wanting to know the good luck background story now!

I love that interior colour - is it Oxblood or Amarone? Looks bloody lovely, as does the exterior colour. Cracking find, you must be over the moon!

Go on, everyone loves a good story, how did you come by it?

Ok so here it is :poke:

I had a stunning sapphire black e86 about 3 years ago and sold it, put a stupid exhaust on it and sold the original exhaust to some dude who needed one.

So about 6 weeks ago I sold my Mev RTR Rocket and was on the hunt for a manual e86 lowish miles and wanted it to have been enthusiast owned.

Went to a well known Z4 dealer and had a look at some quality looking Cars, but just couldn't commit to anything as wanted to see a few more and wait for a special one to turn up.

Having viewed loads I headed off to the Z4 chappy again and he showed me a mean looking black one and as I was sniffing about the showroom I spotted this stunner, heading straight over with my wife I just fell in love with it, the CSL's the Aeros and most of all the Amerone Leather, absolutely LOVED it, asked him if it was for sale and sadly it wasn't, it was sourced for a friend of his, and I had to walk away feeling a bit gutted if I'm honest.

Few weeks went by, I'm walking by the river with my wife, I'm moaning like an old woman saying I can't stop thinking about that bloody car, I'd posted a wanted thread here and some really nice cars were thrown at me but just not right.

Then "Street" reaches out and says he's got a car I may be interested in.......

Sends me the for sale thread and I think to myself, holy @@@@ That's looks similar to the car I saw at the dealer.

I replied saying here's my number and he says we have spoken before, I'd sold him an exhaust 3 years ago  WTF ?!
He still had the conversation and I was praying I'd been nice or I wasn't gonna get this car now lol

So having put that strange coincidence down I asked him where he'd gotten this car and he said a good friend sourced it.

Then we realised it was the SAME car I'd fallen for in the dealership lol
He'd fallen for 2 cars, and wanted the other one as it suited him better, and I got the one I'd fallen for and everyone a winner through pure chance.

Basically couldn't give him my money fast enough.

Anyone that knows Street knows he's an absolute top lad, he got under it for me to show me the underside, all the history, even serviced it for me so it was all upto date and ready, I fired up to his location and he picked me up at the train station, this car was meant to be.

The coincidences were just to odd to ignore.

So there it is :driving:

Now I can't stop cleaning it.
Had it 24hrs it's been waxed 3 times

Cheers buddy this is a keeper for me now.
I've had a lot of "toys" so this car is hopefully going to serve we well, it's done 67k miles it's in lovely condition underneath with virtually no rust at all, inside is immaculate alloys are great, I think I'd prefer the 18s in this style with bigger tyre side profile round here because of all the potholes where I live.

But just means i have to really watch the road surface and be more careful.

Thanks again guys appreciate the comments.

That's the only thing I'd change.

I’d say that it was definitely worth the wait even if you were rather desperate in the wanted topic

Wow, that worked out really well for you.

You got the low mileage you really wanted along with Amarone Individual leather and aero sills, which is a fantastic combo!

I ran my current one on 19s for a year and TBF when I switched to OE 18s the ride quality wasn't noticeably different - just so long as you don't have run-flats.

Cheers Tidy.

The 19's look the tits but I'm 48 now and want a softer ride lol

If I lived in Switzerland or Germany it would be fine but I live in rural Fenssville

I'm years older than you, and the previous owner of mine lived in rural Rutland!
