Headlamp mist

Quick project, seem to get some mist in headlamps requiring removal of the bulb caps to clear, so drilled some holes in the caps.
Covered with fine mesh inside.

I have a worse problem with my other BMW which occasionally throws light bulb warning messages. Have left the cap off completely for the time being but I like the idea of drilling holes and having some mesh so will have to give that a go.

Interesting idea!

Are you sure that water won't get into this area during a long rainy journey on the highway?

What kind of mesh did you glue into the cap?

Well second thought was to glue in two pipes to reduce possibility of water getting in.
I used some fine brass mesh, almost like electric razor foil.

At work we use a fuel drainer to separate water from avgas.
That has a fine mesh, the water being to "sticky" to pass but fuel does.

Cool. I kept some elder shaving foil caps as replacements. Can be removed from the cap and hot glued under the headlight cap.

Mine misted up because of perished seals, surely drilling holes in the cover will have the same result?

Is this giving the desired effect, or are you still getting misting in the lights?

The lights will always mist up as they have breathers to atmosphere and either the diurnal effects or washing will precipitate the misting effect..
