Due to the increase in spam user registrations I have decided to bring forward the V3 upgrade. From what I can see the changelog seems to be empty since RC5 was released, suggesting that the code is "pretty much" frozen now.
What will this mean, in terms of today?
It means that in a couple of hours time you may find the forum unavailable. There will be an explanation page in place, so users will know what is happening.
What will it mean in terms of the forum?
The theme has changed a little... mostly it will be the same as it is now, but it does give us much more room for development!
One negative side is forum modifications. There are a couple I am going to put in place, but largely the forum will remain un-modded until the gold release of V3. This means (probably) no quick reply, no spell checker etc... but this will be rectified as soon as phpbb3 goes gold and the mods become official
When will this happen?
I am going to get myself some coffee and lunch... I invisage starting at around 13:00 UK time (2 hours from now)
How long will it take?
How long is a piece of string... hehe, hopefully it will take 20 - 30 mins or so...
Please be patient during this process... it should be fairly straight forward, but there's no accounting for "Sod's law" (don't forget, I AM sod!)
