Know your G29

There’s a thing or two to learn about our Zed’s and I found two new things today about my zed today and I thought I’d share them with you lot. Then I thought, perhaps it would be great if we all add something that we know or have found out about our cars and list them here for new owners :D

So, first one the minimum operating temperature for our fabrics convertible top is -10C/14F, that’s amazing
And my second, equally incredible find, if you have adaptive cruise control, when you press set, it sets the speed at the current indicated speed limit not the speed your doing and also if you press it before entering a lower zone it sets it to that too

Anyway who’s next

I was going to do a write up at some point about how I’m finding the G29 now I’ve got 4K+ in and this was one of them.

As you know [ref]sars[/ref], I’ve raved about ACC, and still do. My one bad experience of the technology was the reading of the road signs and the ability to press set to whatever speed limit is displayed.

We were on a forum run, D&G I think, car was in sports plus and box in sports too. We’d been on a very fast stretch and were approaching a village HUD flicks up speed limit and I press set, admittedly without paying too much attention. Car squats and takes off like it’s fucking possessed. I’ve no idea what’s going on, Kathleen’s asking me WTF I’m doing, I glance back at the HUD and the cruise is set at 80 not 30. It was one of those poxy led flashy lights it’d read outside a school and I remember it was a bit patchy. The car had read it as 80, I’d pressed set and off we went. Now if it’s not a proper highways sign I always check before I press set

You can say “hey bmw” followed by “tell me a joke” or “introduces yourself “ or “ flirting with me” or anything you want to say and see what will happen.

You can also change "Hey BMW" to something else. Mine now answers to "Bitch"

Exactly!

If you go with certain bmw approved tyre (star marked tyre) like the one (PSS) come with the car, there is a way to scan the QR code on the tyre to tell the car which specific tyre is fitted.

Yeah it has some auto recognition.

In the reversing settings, you can turn on emergency breaking.
So while this may sound stupid in my old g29 for some reason I reversed way to quickly forgetting there was a wall not that far away and the car slammed on the breaks!
Useful safety feature!

Then, in your myBmw app, you can check each tyre’s model as long as you fit the supported one and pressure

I believe it’s based on applying image object recognition on the reverse camera and it may recognise some false object and brake unexpected.

I’ll take the odd unexpected stop compared to accidentally reversing into a car or pole!

If you park it next to an E85 you can see how fat, bloated and bland it's become.
:o :P

Jealousy is such an ugly trait. ;)
I totally agree.
Nothing to be jealous of here however.

You keep telling yourself that.
I mean nothing says class act like calling someone’s new car bloated and bland. Does it?
