Missing my Zed

Sold my Zed a couple of years ago while living in Germany & bought a Caterham. I love the Caterham & it is way beyond cool (Esp here in America) But the Cat is a bit of a fiddly thing to live with on a daily basis & is a wicked thing to get in and out of with the hood up. I quite often find my self stuck at home in the winter if I don't take the wife to work so that I can use her GLK. Live and learn.

Would you buy another z4 bigdog or sticking with the caterham?
I've often considered buying a caterham in kit form & building it myself, maybe a present to self when i eventually retire :)

I'm torn Rob.
I do like something that is a bit unusual. And the Caterham surely fits that bill to a tee and it's been a big hit with all that see it.
However when we returned from Germany in 2014 it was determined that the wife would retire in two years and so I would not be returning to work. So we certainly don't need a third car. Therefore I find that having a Caterham as "my" only car in the rural area that is Walla Walla is a rather hard thing to deal with in the winter.

Walla Walla has pretty wet and foggy winters, but the summers are pure sunshine, We saw 112F last summer and are routinely in the 90's. A Caterham at that temp is a brutal sweat box. Then to get to any good B roads one would have to drive for hours or trailer it. So the seven has been more of an around town cruiser.

We just bought a motor home though to travel the USA https://www.flickr.com/photos/130801546@N06/albums/72157659565614505 So we hope to pull the seven behind it and head for the Pacific coast & other neat places where the seven would be in it's element.

If I were to replace the seven I would like another E85 si Zed or a Mazda MX-5.

OMG that is a monster, you sir are going to be living my ultimate dream, traveling the US in a beautiful RV and taking a 2nd car behind to explore the places you visit.

Very jealous, have an amazing time. And perhaps run a thread to keep us up to date with your journey
