New model Hardtop for Z4

This new Hardtop almost makes a Coupé out of a Roadster :

For those that want to get one (no price on the site) they should be around 2500 Euro (without tax) so close to 3000 Euro all included :?

(Found the info on a French Z-forum)

Welcome RoadsterB - where's your Z? Must make intro with pictures!
Regarding the hard-top, it's a little 'bubbly' towards the rear but looks OK

I think it's looks really nice, almost as nice as a real Coupé. Almost. :fuelfire:

It does look like a more streamlined fit on the car compared to the BMW one IMHO. Rear and side visibility should be pretty good too.

Interesting reactions so far - the roadster folks are hesitant and those of us with coupes are perhaps more inclined to view it favorably.

For the record I fall in the camp of liking it a lot more than the older version. Much nicer lines in my book....

I like it except where it joins the back of the car. I'd love to see a concave curve where it fits to the car above the trunk. that would flow a lot better.

ship: that's the first thing I noticed, the baby in the corner!
I think me and Yal are on the same page. I just don't care for the way the rear looks. It's just OK :|

I'm undecided. The shape does look a bit similar to the new hardtop vert Z4. It's just hard to say whether I like it without seeing it in person or at least in better pictures.

I don't really like how my hardtop looks from the front 3/4 angle and it does look like this new hardtop might look better from that angle.

What if you order a different colour?

Hi,

I really like it, and would pay top price for one close to the Coupe which this isn't too bad. You get 2 cars for a fraction of the cost.

This has been talked about for a long while on the Boxster Forum. The 987 hard top not supplied by Porsche btw makes it look like the cayman and I would sooner buy a nice softop car and put a nice roof on then be stuck with the hard top all the time.

Oh and i think both the Z4 and Boxster hard tops from the dealers look too rounded.

Cheers

Not a bad attempt...
I like the way it sits on the back deck & quarter MUCH better.
But overall the lines are not quite right.

They probably did it for visibility reasons, but I think the rear glass finishes too high.
The top edge shouldn't be higher than the front beam.

...should be more like this:

inTgr8r - Given the (lack of) view I have out of the back of my coupe you might want to leave that rear window height alone. That is my single biggest complaint about my car.
