No oil change for 7 years!

Hi folks. I'm looking at buying an e85 with the n52 3.0 engine. It didn't have an oil change for 7 years by the looks of it but in terms of mileage it was only about 17000. What's the thoughts on this?

Many thanks

Maybe the problem is a previous owner was just looking at the mileage countdown on the OBC as it only shows miles, not realising it should be done at least every 2 years regardless of mileage.

My daily is a 330i with the same engine and looking at the service book it looks like it went 6 years from 64K miles to 91K without a service, even though the OBC shows the date as well as the mileage!

By the time I was looking at it in 2019 it had done 107K without any apparent problems and because I liked the price and the spec I bought it. It's now on 128K and still performing brilliantly.

Given that it only did 17K miles (my 330i shows 19K until the next one after a service) if everything else about it ticks all the boxes I'd probably just use it as a negotiating tool. N52 engines seem pretty bulletproof judging by this:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=152362.

The other thing is the UK only got 963 E85 3.0Si models so they can be quite hard to find, but at the end of the day it's whether you are comfortable with it.

If the engine runs smoothly and there’s no sign of any smoke, there’s unlikely to be anything to worry about.
