Now Nanu’s new car

The car was originally up for sale November last year for £38,000. It was reduced a couple of times to £36,500.

The log book was issued 28th January. The road tax was cancelled on the 22nd February and the car put back up for sale.

Less than 30 days ownership would ring alarm bells to me. It could be someone that hasn't liked the car, but such a short space of time is probably a rejection.

Thanks for that. Considering a purchase but will ask about the short ownership. Have come across this before where the garage manager used the car. Could also indicate a repossession perhaps as the person I spoke to mentioned that there had been an issue over finance.
Have checked the MOT and advisory on 3 tyres and garage has replaced the tyres, said they are not allowed to sell the car with advisories uncorrected.

If it was used by the garage they wouldn't have registered a new keeper. It won't be a repossession within a month of ownership. They wouldn't have missed a payment yet.

Maybe the finance application was turned down but the garage had already sent off the V5 or the buyer got cold feet and pulled out at the very last minute. Worth asking the dealer about it though.

That is the impression I get but will ask along with a cheeky discount 8)

Will have to act quickly though while STMBO is in a good mood

It is highly unlikely a dealership the size of Sytner would register a new keeper of a car until they have received payment in full. I purchased a used Cayman last year from Porsche Silverstone, which is owned by Sytner. They took payment on the day of collection via my debit card and then did the change of ownership.

Whatever the true reason, I have it in email that the car is 100% so have reserved it with a £100 deposit (refundable) and going down on Sunday to have a closer look and test drive.
They have offered me a reasonable price for mine and a small discount on theirs. All in all exchange will cost me £12k which I consider to be a decent deal. Worth a 5 hour drive I think

Go for it

Gone and done it :D Now the proud owner of a Frozen Silver G29 M40i with Cognac interior and well chuffed.
Travelled down to High Wickham yesterday and picked up the new wheels today. Sale went very smoothly and can't praise the Sytner dealership enough.
Pics will follow when I clean it from todays 5 hour journey and when the sun is shining of course but for the time being, a one from the showroom will have to do.

PS. For anyone needing an overnight stay at a weekend, anywhere around the Henley on Thames, can highly recommend Greenlands Hotel which is part of the Henley Business school. Found it cheaper than the local Travel Lodge and much much better

Really pleased for you welcome to the M40i Club; the B58 is (in my not very humble opinion 🤣) possibly one of the greatest I6 engines ever.

Congratulations. When are they going to apply the lacquer to the paint.
Its not the garage that are doing it. I want something I can do just to give some extra protection for things like bird cr@p and such.
Had a conversation with staff at Gtechniq and they recommend a ceramic wash product that they do which you use as a shampoo. It doesn’t add any shine but adds a protection for about 3 months. Went into Halfords for some bug removal spray and when I asked about the possibility of ceramic products they recommended Gtechniq.

Will give our colleagues a day or so to see what if anything is suggested but if none, will place an order and try it by the weekend

Congratulations [ref]Nanu[/ref], Cognac and frozen grey is lovely a combination, especially with the cerium grey accents. I did think about it for the new one, but felt with the gloss black trim, black wheels and black sapphire would look ace.

My Mustang was treated with Gtechniq almost 8 years ago, guaranteed for 7 it’s still working and has been parked outside all that time, would certainly be my pick.

Very happy with the choice. It’s already been admired by the neighbours. I would have also liked the Frozen green with Cognac interior but it only comes in manual which is not for me.

The M40i is scary fast and it took a few miles to get used to a different feel.

Re yours, the “ all black” Will look dramatic and certainly make a statement. What interior did you go for?

Yours sounds like the professional version which I think is the serum. This one is the W3 which leaves a ceramic residue following the wash process. Can’t go far wrong with Gtechniq stuff it was recommended to me a while ago by Beedub an expert in the field.

Congratulations [ref]Nanu[/ref], that looks lovely and as I’m sure you’re discovering the B58 is an amazing engine.

scary quick but very smooth. Had 5 hours drive home from London without the wife in the passenger seat. Stuck to speed limits of course 😈
