Hi,

So after many years of owning this Z4, and another 3.0 previously, it's time for me to move to something else with more seats and more space. I'm torn whether to sell or keep it as a summer toy as (I may be biased) its the best looking Z4 I've seen on the road, and for the money nothing comes close for these looks. I regularly get kids pointing, and comments from people in car parks how nice it looks. I even had a guy in B&Q car park ignore the Nissan GTR next to it and stand looking at mine. Lunatic. I had to let him sit in it after that as he liked it so much :driving:

So, I'm testing the waters. If I get a sensible price I will sell, otherwise I may keep it as a summer toy. I can't face chopping it in at p/x prices which is about the same as wescrewyouforyourcar.com.

Onto the details. I'll update this post with more info when I get time, if there is any interest. It's not currently advertised anywhere else as would prefer an enthusiast takes it initially.

2004 (Sep) 3.0i SE
3 previous owners
Approx. 114k miles, daily driver but very low daily mileage added.
MOT due August
Full service history (details to be added. I think indicator says 6000miles to next service)
Sat Nav
Shorter M Knob
2x Cupholders
2x First aid boxes (under seats)
Cruise control
Auto lights, wipers
Electric heated sports seats
Auto dim rear view mirror
Electric folding heated side mirrors
Stubby aerial
MFSW
Aux cable with bluetooth module for streaming audio (streams only, doesn't allow radio controls to control bluetooth track play/pause etc.)
USB power port added to glovebox
Sound generator (all foam removed  )
Preventative / maintenance work completed in last couple years:
Front control arms, anti-roll bar links / bushings replaced (Jul 2012)
Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs (B12 kit), all new components, drop links, top mounts, rubbers, nuts, bolts throughout. Nothing reused, not even a washer. (Jun 2013)
Hunter alignment
New starter fitted (Bosch S5) (Mar 2014)
New plugs and coils (Dec 2014)
DISA replaced
Vanos seals replaced when replacing rocker gasket (Jan 2015)
Replaced water pump with metal impeller version (Jan 2015)
Replace drive and AC belts (Jan 2015)
Replaced thermostat housing (Jan 2015)
Replace brake flexible hoses (Jan 2015)
Front to rear brake lines replaced throughout (Aug 2015)
Alloys refurbed, two minor areas of curb rash. I wasn't pleased with the refurb in that there were some bubbles in the powder coat, but its acceptable.
Vredestein Vortis all around.
Mods, updates:
M Front bumper, incl. ducts, brackets etc. retrofit
Fang protector plates (custom made, perfect fit underneath fang)
Clear side indicators
Orange headlight removal, black inners, single angel eye (See this thread for details of the latest AE update: http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=77238)
Work needed this year / intended next bits I'd do if keeping the car
Rear tyres would be replaced by the end of the year, I'll see about getting a tread gauge and measuring across the tyre, but mostly inside edge due to camber
Front brake discs/pads getting a slight lip on them. I've had my eye on some EBC Ultimax discs and pads for later this year.
Drivers side bolster wear. This has annoyed me as the rest of the seats are amazing. Quoted £90 to replace the worn panel by a local trimmers, but they sort of stood me up the day I was dropping it off to get the work done, so I haven't been back yet out of principle

I have a very comprehensive wallet with every receipt for everything bought, fitted and work completed, from services to maintenance items. I'll update the post when I have chance to go through it all.

So the P/X offering is around £3700 for a stock car (modded headlights and M bumper are wasted in a p/x), so I'd be looking for £4000 privately. I'm not interested in hagglers, it's worth £4k all day and I'd rather keep it than give it away. I have a GSXR600 that does <1000 miles a year as a summer toy, I'll happily keep this along side it for the rare sunny day of top down fun :driving:

For the full £4000 asking price I will include in the sale:
Spare steering wheel (bought to get it recovered for the thicker M feel)
E46 M3 cabrio front ARB

The car currently has a private plate but I hope to have this transferred this weekend (if I get my new car as planned) as it is not included in the sale, so it will be back on a standard plate asap. I'm in no rush to sell, so will remove the plate and get the new docs sorted to make the sale easier.

Please contact me by pm if interested and I'll pm you my phone number.

Please note, the car is based in Hull, Yorkshire.

Thanks
Paul

Paul, I'm interested and looking to purchase immediately. I've owned a coupe and been looking for a nice roadster for some time. 07717686005

Lovely looking car  will pass that on to a boy from work looking for a zed

Can you wait 24hrs  just sent the link to my mate who is looking for one

Too late Andy :( but it's ok  he's just phoned me after I texted him with the link. He's bought a 2012 plate Maserati granturismo lol no difference! he was wanting a wee summer vert max 6k the last time I spoke to him. Now sold his x5 & bought the Maserati ! Happy days.

I've had lots of interest, messages and calls, so thanks to those that have expressed their interest, clearly I under priced it

As I've explained to a few potential new Z4 owners, I'm hoping to purchase my new car on Saturday (although made the mistake of reading some of the negative reviews of the dealer I'm going to see :headbang: so fingers crossed) at which point I'll transfer my private plate and begin arranging viewings.

I don't want anyone to set travel dates to come see it or pay a holding deposit until I've taken delivery of my new car, so I know exactly where I stand and can happily go ahead with the sale of the Z4. I hope this makes sense, as if the car/dealer I'm going to see doesn't work out, (I'll be pissed off with the train expenses) I may be looking for the next car for a couple weeks or until another one comes up with the spec I want.

I clearly underestimated how easy it was going to be to sell with a single forum post, normally its a few weeks on pistonheads before a car is sold, I reckon this would sell a dozen times over

Edit: Also added a little extra info on advert (cupholders, first aid boxes, cruise etc.)

Thanks for your patience,
Paul

Hi mate,
Great looking Z.
Joined forum specifically to post an offer of your asking price, no questions asked, no test needed. It's obviously been your pride and joy enough to convince me it's a straight motor!
Cash is waiting and can collect immediately if interested!
Do I need to get to the back 'o the queue though?
Shuffles to the back and waits patiently....
Cheers,
Chris

p.s. Will be sticking around on this forum as it's my solemn intention to grab a nice preloved 3.0 manual come rain or shine - hence if I can't bag this one I would politely ask anyone who reads this post to point me in an alternative direction perhaps? Looks like a great forum full of true enthusiasts.

Hi,

Having just rang the garage selling the car I'd like to view and hopefully purchase tomorrow, to make an appointment for tomorrow, they tell me someone is coming to see it this afternoon. (Garage keeps cars off site so view by appointment only)

They're going to let me know either way later today.

So, as I feared and warned, the sale of this Z4 may be delayed pending this outcome.

So I hopped onto a train today to travel 3 hours one way to see a £25k car that was described to me yesterday as "immaculate, we have our own bodyshop so we sort all of our cars out to be perfect" which was in no uncertain terms, not perfect. Among the curbed alloys and rusty callipers (2014 car, <13k miles) it had a 3" deep scratch on the rear quarter visible from 20ft away, scuffs to the plastic on front and rear bumpers, rear vent handle broken off (and broken part left in cubby hole)... so basically crap sales telling porkies wasting my money and importantly a full day of my time  .

After apologising that he thought the car had been "prepped" when it clearly hadn't, I hopped back on a train to come home.

So, as I've mentioned to those I've spoken with, I'm only looking to sell once I've bought the new car. I don't want to waste anyones time having them travelling to see it, regardless if they're happy to do so, as I'm not in a position to sell. Theres a lot of people expressing interest to buy, so once I can sell I'll contact them in the order they contacted me.

For now I'll call this thread paused. Sorry guys. To be continued.
