You've got the wrong way round. It used to be called Castrol TWS Motorsport but is now Castrol Edge : http://www.castrol.com/castrol/sectionbodycopy.do?categoryId=9024084&contentId=7073092BigT said:No, it should be 10W-60. The official BMW supplied oil used to be called Castrol Edge for M engines, but I think Castrol rebrand it now for dealers and it is called Castrol TWS Motorsport, but it is the same specification.
We're talking specifically about the S54 engine in the E85/86 M model. This is an altogether different engine with very specific oil requirements i.e: 10W-60 .moonshine said:From my 2009 e89 23i manual

Well it's always been serviced at the same supplying BMW dealership, so I've no worries about that. Also, the top-up bottle was unused, so I don't think any of it's in there. Though even if it was, I highly doubt a small amount would make any difference to its running.Beedub said:Spud said:So they should send me a bottle as an AUC, you reckon?
no, the previous owner has brought the incorrect oil, its not the AUCs remit to change top up oil in the back of the car..... i just hope the car has seen the correct oil over its life, that said even though 10w60 is recommended the 0w30 would not hurt a daily driven z4m at all, but still id prefur one thats seen the correct weight in terms of lubricant.
