TVR or BMW

Plymouth ish
Doing a track day with my son next week, who would take the Trevor? BMW gave me an ample toll kit which consists of an almost empty plastic roll and a tyre pump. Tom has already got the giant tool kit and lightweight jack in his boot, this is just a pile of come in handy bits and it's still growing. Dam I love my Z 😁

It's completely true what they say. I remember a trip to Nürburgring, about 20 years ago, in my Fiat Coupe20vt. I set off with the TVR club. At least 4 didn't get to the circuit with the convoy, due to mechanicals. And that has to be a damming indictment of TVR reliability, from a man who was driving a Fiat of that period.

Had a great day, foggy stqrt delayed the start but then it turned into summer. First time at Snetterton and what a fantastic track, its got a bit of everything. No other Z's but loads lf M3's from every era. Anyway the photo is a bit misleading cos Trever made it without any probs and we both got quicker as the day went on. The cheap Acceleras were brilliantand they warmed up quickly and never went off (8 laps max). Not looking forward to the 6+ hourdrive home now

were you trying out the accelera 651 sports? if so, they can be incredibly keenly priced, last set i bought was during a half price sale, think the tyres were like, £48 each.

any more pics of the tvr? looks like a somewhat unconventional crayon/battleship grey, is it paint or a wrap?

But yeah, snetterton is good fun. big commitment into turn 1, and then gets a bit nadgery in the midfield, but a very important corner before the long back straight. and then dancing around on the edge of grip through coram, had some big moments through there!

It sounds like you had a great time. :driving:

And the TVR performed too - great!

They are the 651 sports extra and no big offers on at the moment. I'm waiting for the next one but even at this price they're great value.

The TVR is painted and the body a little modified, a more ridged bonnet with more cooling and a small spoiler on the boot lid. Under the bonnet is a 4.5 litre with a GT35/82 turbo. Yesterday it ran 8psi boost and around 400hp but has a 3 position switchable map which can run at 14psi and 560 bhp. Oh and still no traction control etc so only comes out to play if the conditions are right. A few more mods are in the pipeline to take some wider tyres.
