What did you do to your Z4M today?

Figured as these cars appear to get more rare on the roads, it would be good to start a thread to see what people have been up to with their Z4Ms, whether it's a drive out, a road trip, maintenance or upgrades 8)

In any case I'll start, did a recent short euro trip over half term and I've now got two jobs to sort out...

Wiper mechanism squeaks, job for the weekend.

The xenon bulbs are way past their best so I've ordered some Osram night breaker super duper D2S beasts, I'm looking forward to fitting and removing all the skin from my hands!

Pics to follow of the before and after beam patterns

Random pic from Europe to kick start this thread...

Posted elsewhere already, but I took mine for an MOT today and it passed with no advisories for the 6th time running. :D

I took it to Castle Combe a couple of weeks ago and as it was clean for once I took photos.

Next job will be new rear tyres as they are down to 3mm and I'm going to Scotland next month!

Replaced the oat sensor with the correct part number, but needed modding to fit.

Had to drill out an insert. Fits fine. Haven't booted it up yet though.

I fitted rear cubby subwoofers. Tuuuuune
Interesting, was that a retro fit of the OEM ones?

Yeap

It’s not like the 10 speaker system in terms of output but it makes a nice step up to just bridge off the normal headrest speakers

I had no idea you could do that, might have to do the same, you got any info on it? Assume they just bolt in and then splice into the headrest speakers?

Just that mate

Buy a set of speakers- make sure you buy the speakers, all fixings, covers and foam

Pop the carpet in the boot off to reveal the cables for the upper speakers and splice in

Took me about 45 mins and most of that was moving the carpet and battery box out of the way

Brill thanks, will add it to the never ending 'its nearly finished' list

That rear looks weird ? Lots of camber or a strange photo angle ?
Lots of camber, I run a reasonable track geo for PS4S that's still usable on the road. About 2 rear and 2.5 front.

The bulbs arrived tonight so found a bit of time to get them in and short test drive.

The bulbs as they come...D2S fitting for the E85/6

One new on the left Vs a roughly 10yr old Philips, that's had very little use, just goes to show they still age...camera settings locked here so fair comparisons and WB locked at 4300k (OEM xenon)

And a few beam patterns, always hard to say but I'd say they are a good 50% better at least, supposedly take 3hrs to burn in and this is after 30 mins roughly. (Keep in mind my car runs low so of course the dipped is quite a short beam)

Well worth the upgrade. They are about £100 from powerbulbs, be careful, lots of fakes out there.

Stuart have you got an M now . When did that happen or have I got early onset dementia ?

Yes mate! And the question I keep asking myself is why did I take so long to get one???!!!

Yesterday mine passed it's MOT

Only comment was it was too clean underneath as he had nothing to write down.
