Which Vacuum is best.

This question for both sexes now. I have a cheap second hand electro-lux vacuum cleaner with one or two unsuitable attachments that I use not only around the house but also the car. I would like to replace said cleaner but can anyone recommend a decent one with good attachments for the car? I know 'Henrys' are good but don't know if their attachments are any good. Thanks Guys AND Dolls.

We've got a Dyson animal something or other and the bit at the end of the hose has gaps in it...I'm sure it loses suction cos of these, although it does a good enough job,

We've got 3 Henrys, or to be accurate 2 Henrys and 1 Hetty :) , one of the Henrys is my car/garage/shed vacuum and I picked up a set of mini attachments from eBay which are ideal for the car http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300847804946

I want to buy the Dyson digital slim - looks right up my street. This will be for house not car as I never clean my car, go to the car wash :o :D

Dyson pet one (haven't got a pet, he died but the vacuum hasn't, yet)
I'll get another Dyson when this one needs replacing.

I have a Dyson Animal for the house but for my car or anything outside I use my Sears 5 gallon shop vac...

We have a Sebo, it may be bagged but its German engineering in a vacuum cleaner and you can buy spares should you need them but I wouldnt mind getting one of the new Dyson digital ones for the car so I dont have to worry about cords.

....what's a vacuum!?
Is it that thing that when the wife turns it on I have to shut the door coz I cant hear the TV?

I wouldn't use something like the Dyson digital in the car, anything like that with a large hard shell is going to end up knocking against and scratch/dent/scuff trim and leather as you try to get into nooks and crannies, IMO you're much better with a long soft flexible hose with short nozzles/brushes so that you can keep the vacuum cleaner itself outside of the car.

I have a Dyson for in the house and I use a karcher wet and dry vac 2.200 for the car and other DIY jobs.

I cannot fault either but I find the karcher awesome, paid £25 on the karcher outlet shop and is wet or dry, can use bags or bag-less and I find its great for everything. Extra attachments cost me about £5 from ebay.

The dyson is a good vacuum although when/if it packs up I really like the look of the G-Tech air ram and multi combo

It's that thing you use to suck the air out of your blow-up doll so it can be packed away where SWMBO can't find it.... :P

I never thought of that....will have to try that on my blow up sheep!

Thanks for your input Guys. A couple of funny replies but more importantly no sarcastic ones, now that really would suck.
I dont rate Dysons in general, but was told Meile are quite good. There's a suprise. German engineering pops its teutonic head up again.

Meile are meant to be the bee's bollox with most kitchen appliences, so makes sense.

that is a very fair point, the sebo has an attachable hose extension for use in the car which is very useful, guess I am just being lazy as I cant be bothered to sort it all out each time I give it a clean, thanks for the advice.

I've heard this from the man who wall mounted my TV...he was feeding back his observations from some of his posh customers homes.

I have a Miele and bought the attachment set for it for the car as well. The attachment set is nice, is about £50 but comes with every small bit to get between the seats and under them etc. The hose is also very long at about 5 meters.

It is the Miele Cat and Dog.

This is the set: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Miele-SMC10-Micro-Attachment-Tool/dp/B0002HOP52
