Hi Guys.
I'm new to this forum as I've only had my 2003 Z4 for about 6 months now but I can tell you I still get a grin whenever I squeeze the throttle, what a car.
Anyway a bit about myself, I studied electronic engineering at Uni. quite some time ago now and I've always been in the electronics business and always loved designing devices that are unique.

I've got a few ideas for the Z4 and I've just released my first.
It's a module called the One Touch Hood or OTH and it will automatically lower or raise your hood without having to hold your finger on the dashboard button.
I'm aware that there are similar devices out there but the OTH has definite advantages over them.

Over the coming months I will be releasing further devices to enhance and improve the already great Z4 and I'll keep you posted.

Please check it out and if you have any questions please ask.

Welcome to the Forum. Nice to see your a Zed owner but not so sure about using the site to advertise your products - the forum is designed to promote Zed ownership and not business interests. However to confirm your honourable intentions I have shifted this post to the Newbiwe section and invite you to post details and pics of you and your Zed.

gapTech, let's see your Z4 credentials - pics & specs!

Sounds like a good device you have there, have to admit I'm intrigued. Off the top of my head...
Does it work off the key, if that function is enabled?
The emergency stop, is that resistance based or a button push?
Had something else, but it's gone.

Your list of ideas, so they don't feel they're missing out, could you add a 12v single push automatic toaster for the coupe boys :fuelfire:

Good luck with the sales, always nice to see people manufacturing things

Hi there.
I've got a 2.2 2003 with auto lights, auto wipers and now a fully automatic hood :D
I'll get some pics uploaded soon.

The OTH module has no interaction with the key and does not affect or enhance any key operation you may have, it purely enhances the dashboard button functions.
The emergency stop is activated by briefly pushing either the raise or lower button to stop the hood's movement.

I appreciate your toaster comment but I'm not going to risk offending anyone just yet by geting drawn into a Roadster vs Coupe battle

Thanks.

Oh, go on.....

Welcome, hope all posts do not become adverts, althoug that one is interesting. :fuelfire:

Hi and welcome.

This product is identical to the Reinhold One Touch module, but at current prices around half the cost so could be of great interest to those without.

Are you working on a remote roof module by chance?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Actually I reccon it's better than the Reinhold module in two ways a) you do not have to cut any of the zed's existing wires and b) it is reprogrammable from the dashboard buttons.
You are dead right, I am working on a remote module as well and I intend this to have some added features over the competition also.

Cheers guys.

Gary.

Welcome along gapTech. All sounds very intriguing and I'll be investigating further! Look forward to seeing the pics

Looks like you have done your research. I have both reinhold modules already and your right with one you have to cut a wire.

Not sure of the benefit of programming though as yes it would be nice if the windows didn't go back up but the cycle time is shorter if the windows are already down so would they then stop half way up?

Also if it was raining you would then need to raise the windows manually afterwards I guess, so it's 6 of one half a dozen of the other I think.

I'm sure you well get plenty of custom here though as all in all it's looks a good product at a good price.

Welcome Gaptech.

Your creations look very interesting, if you can build a remote roof module for a good price ill be your first customer. I might consider a combined one touch/ remote roof unit.

was very close to buying the reinhold unit, but I decided to add USB/IPOD input. However im back in the market for the remote roof now!!

Hi

I'm looking into designing a remote module now, maybe with one touch built in as well. It should be available sometime in the spring hopefully.

Thanks.

welcome
i have just got one of your modules from ebay easy fit and a great bit of kit
hopefully when you develop your all in one module i'll get a discount

Hopefully you succeed with your combined module, or even just the remote roof module.
If you do and the price is right, I'd be in the queue too.
Belated welcome to the forum by the way.

welcome!

Sounds good... now if you could get one which also makes my mirrors automatically close when i locked my doors i'd be eternally greatful!!
