We’re off playing on the Oulton Park drift stages again, this time it’s on Saturday July 25th and of course all Z4 forum members are invited along.

This is a bit of what we get up to –

This is a great fun event and a good way to learn how your car reacts when it runs out of grip. As an extra bonus, even after a full day drifting, the low friction surface on the drift stages at Oulton give virtually zero tyre wear! We had one Z4 plus a mix of other beemers at the last one we ran so I'm hoping that we'll be able to build it up a bit now and get a good showing from the club for this event
.

List price for this one is £140 for the day but we are doing the usual members rate of £120, extra drivers can sign in for £35 and passengers for a tenner. Free instruction is included so it's no problem if you haven't tried it before - if you'd like to come along please shout up on here and I'll PM you the booking details and a discount code :) .

Cheers

Interested in this, but we have a dilemma as to bring one or two cars. If we bring one car and pay for the £35 for the extra driver presume we get the total track time split between us? Also what sort of time you do get on the track, we are both complete newbies and would need instruction, other half has been and watched but never took part, so we are not a 100% sure what to expect, with standing around training and the time you get to actually do it.

No doubt we will bring both because we have already started to argue, do not think he trusts me to drive his car and have to admit i would prefer to drive mine. They both drive so differently it would make sense to bring both.

PM me the discount code (already booked the mallory track day for me :D )

Hi Ann

I'll PM you the code, the Z4 and the 350z will drift nicely so I'd say bring them both!

You might get as many as 100 runs at the drift courses over the day but you'll always be ready for more! It runs a bit differently from a normal trackday, there are two courses that you can move between as you like over the day, on each course we release one car at a time at around 20 second intervals so you should never tangle with another car whislt you are out playing. Once you have completed your lap you rejoin the queue, on average you would probably be queueing for about two minutes and then straight out again! We have far less entries on these events to ensure plenty of tracktime and it also leads to a more relaxed atmosphere.

We'll have an instructor on each course at all times so when you need some help you can just grab him for a few laps and he'll make sure you get the best out ot the car. It's a lot of fun, we always get the best feedback from these days even from hardened trackdayers :guns: ; basically it's a chance to hoon around sideways for a day - what could be better?

What time does the trackday generally get over. I really want to do it but I've also other plans for the saturday evening.

did mr sixspeed book ?

It would be the first year I hadn't been to Global Gathering since lunchtime.. how early could we start ? I'm tempted to get there asap and rush back about 3pm.

We will be signing in from 7.30, briefing at 8.30 and kickoff on track at 9am, not allowed any earlier cos of the neighbours :idunno:

If you are running till three you could still get a good 60-80 runs at the courses so you won't be short of tracktime!

I'll PM you the details for our day, you don't want to go with MSV when you can come with us on a club day at a cheaper price :D

Great thanks.

My only problem is that I am due to be working that day. Trying to lose the shift. Fingers crossed.

We are now fully booked for this one fellas so I'm looking forward to seeing some of you there. For everyone else, our next driftday is on Sept 26th but don't forget we are running a trackday at Mallory on Sept 5th if anyone fancies a day on circuit 8)
