FEELER: Manchester (West) Rolling Road Day Meet

Hi All,

Just a feeler to place peoples interest really. Rolling Road days were always popular on forums i have past frequented, however not as many people seem to like tweaking/tuning their Zed's... Perfect already??

I know some people at Awesome GTi in Irlam (West of Manchester) who run them for car clubs. Its a great setup with a very accurate DynoJet Rolling Road. Prices will be approx £35 each for a 2wd car and you will get 3 power runs, with a printed laminated graph of wheel torque, wheel power and flywheel power. They also do videos/pics and place them on their RR website! http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/page.php?xPage=rollingroad.html

Just so you know, Rolling Road days arent just for people with tuned cars! They are a great indicator of any creeping problems like DISA, Vanos, Lambdas (Rich/Lean Running) and any flatspots it may have.

As part of this meet, ill also bring NCS Expert on my lappy if anyone wants their car recoding or fault scanning. The only thing i'll ask for this service is that you make a donation to the forum to help keep it running! :)

Pending interest, ill submit some dates :)

Just to add, this is by no means a Z4 only meet! People could also bring along any other car... Louder the better! 4WD is also accomodatable at a small extra cost. They will just wish to place similar wheelbase cars together :)

If we only get 6-10 names, ill start asking other clubs :)

1. Ed (Z4 3.0i)
2. Z4//MMY (Z4M)
3. mmm-five (Z4M)
4. Siftah (Z4 3.0i)

I'd be up for it assuming I've still got the car.

:o :? Selling?? :(
Er, yeah!

Had no proper work for about 6 months this year, and the same last year, and have used up my savings and am now reducing my outgoing as much as possible.
Work is picking up, and I'll need a car for it, but I'll also need funds for paying travel & accommodation expenses (up to 2 month's worth) up front.

not really too fused about going on the rolling road, however im interested in coming along anyway, especially if it turns out to be a bit of a meet?

Just giving this a bump - while possibly sounding a little pointless it's actually a really interesting exercise, and that's a good price too.

Not only that, but you could get your roof coded for remote opening / closing for the price of a donation

The link below has details from my run at another site - the text is a little long winded as always, but there are photos and a video! Which I know you chaps enjoy.

It'd be rude not to with it being in Manchester :)

Put me down for a remote roof recode if you can :)

Hmm looking like a slow burner this one! Oh well lets see how we get on...

We need 10-16 cars to book and we'd be looking at September time.

depending on timing, I'll be up for this :)

Will make a list of things to reprogram too... starting with 1-touch-up on passenger window, drives me bloody mad!

Bit far from me... but I would like to see where mine is against the other 2.5s. Wonder if a referring post in the general section might help?

Is that for the coupé too :P

Okay, I've done some research; I have been studying The Bridge on the River Kwai and I believe 4 small carefully placed explosive charges should do the trick  Not sure about putting it "back" though... Ed will have to work that part out for himself, I can't come up with everything :P

Is there still any interest in this. I'm in newcastle but happy to travel for opportuninty to meet and discuss our cars.

Also Im with tweed on how anoting the lack of one touch passenger side window up is !

Im afraid there was nowhere near as much interest as i anticipated... Too many people happy keeping their cars stock (like me!) ;)

just seen this- i would like to add myself as a possible depending on date (appologies for no show/news re: wales ed, long and complicated story mate)

I could be a possible for this, as might be my brother with his Astra VXR. Couldn't be before 21st October though for me to afford to get down there!
