The basic plan for the route is as follows-

Meet at South Queensferry around 9:00 for a 9:30 start..
head north to knockhill
from Knockhill head to powmill then up to Aberargie
meet the north fife coast at Newburgh and head along coast road to Tayport
Tayport to st Andrew's

St Andrew's to Anstruther via Crail for a lateish lunch

(chips at this point)

Anstruther to Largo via Elie
Largo to Falkland Palace for afternoon coffee..... any ideas for a good spot

end the run at Kinross Services....

would be good to see some new faces at this as well..........send me a PM and I'll add you to the interested list above

As PM'd

If you go through Anstruther Don't reckon I will want Lunch in St Andrews, Famous Chippy there, Everytime I have been the Q is out the door.

Like I said in PM I'll be up for this if I can confirm the weekend off work. Shouldn't be a problem.

I'll be ready to show you boys what a 4-pot can do

Mrs Jax here just having a sneaky look at what's happening. Great minds and all that. I just suggested this venue to Mr Jax and then saw you got in first. Can confirm the Anstruther chippy best I've ever tasted and the Sea Gulls are not as intimidating.

Come on, everyone knows fish and chips isn't as tasty when you're not fearing for your fingers!

Anstruther chippy - ESSENTIAL for lunch!!! :dance2:

That was always the place we stopped at if we were up at, ahem, Crail 1/4 mile  quite a few years ago. I'm absolutely up for a one-day run.

Is fancy dress compulsory?

Ok the Chipper it is............ can you sit in or do we get frostbite in the car park ?

was thinking of going around the coast clockwise ..... otherwise we will be at the chipper by 11:30...... was thinking that Kinross sevices would make a straight forward if unscenic start...other option is south queensferry and get a photo op in near the bridge first. let me know your thoughts..

hopefully get some Coupe's out with us again... :poke:

You can sit-in chipper at Anstruther though it does get packed. Alfresco on the park benches is good and take your chances with the weather, gulls, midges & tourists. A start at S. Queensferry could indeed be a good bridge photo op - if anyone knows a specific spot to stop ?

Carpark opposite Hawes Hotel is Ideal to meet at in S / queensferry it is right next to forth bridge. As for the Chippy There is a carpark opposite (pay for it) but it can get busy so no Gaurantee of all getting in, Parking can be a pain in Ainster. The chippy as Jax said you can sit in or take out, Couple of nice cafes in and around it as well.

Great plan to drive down midweek first week in October and I'll see what's what...

Yup quite right M8, Don't let us dictate it out to you, but if we dont get chips In Anstruther we will never talk to you again

in the interests of competitive business - other chips are available.... IIRC there's another carpark a little round the bend which is a decent size.

Knockhill.. Depends on the route ZermattV does.. Its abouy 5 miles away from me and I was about 18 the last time I went
Drive past it all the time

Fancy dress Hmmmm..Bunch of guys driving Z4s through Fife in fanccy dress ...Expect to have the pish ripped

Plan to use Knockhill as a first pull in after south queensferry ... then head up to the north fife coast...

oooooooOOOO Zermattv has booked us all a track day at knockhill .....Nice one Zermatt  That must have cost you a bob or two
