I need to get an idea of what people want for lunch, as there are going to be about 30-35 of us, they would like some idea at the pub.

Now, the basics first, if people can let me know if they want Sunday lunch - the options are

Chicken
Beef or
Pork

If there is anything which someone fancies not falling into a traditional roast, please could they either post on here, or email me at [email protected] and I can let you have further information about what they do.

Thanks for your help guys.

Nick/Peddy

Roast is fine with me not unless there fancy doing rib eye stake green Beens and butter and mint new patatoes :D

Ok, but what type of Roast you numpty!!! I assume you mean beef!!??

Nickm, tricky one. Couple questions... how do they cook the beef, is it quite pink in the middle or red? Also, the pork, does that come with crackling?

:P

Actually, chicken for me.

I would also say the same.. depends how well is the beef..... to be safe i would say chicken!

Is it a cavery of some sort?

Nick,

I'll eat anything from a cheese roll, to bag of chips, to a carvery. I'll be living in a hotel for the following week so not fussed.

Put me down for pork if you want an answer from the list.

Can I have the pub name and address please?

Do we have to make a choice from now? I'm not fussy with my food at all but i'd prefer if i had the option of choosing from the menu there. Or maybe because of our numbers we have to make a choice now? If that's the case then i guess it's cow for me. :D

The Crown

This is owned by Punch Taverns and is managed and operated within their 'Spirit' division. It was until recently a Chef & Brewer but has recently been rebranded to their 'Pub & Kitchen' concept in the summer of 2010.

I could recommend some alternatives such as the Royal Saracens Head which is 2.7m away from this pub (http://www.theroyalsaracens.co.uk/) or the Ferry Cookham 4.9 miles away (http://www.theferry.co.uk/) or a slightly cheaper option (but good quality) at http://www.theswanamersham.co.uk/)

Saracens is nice too but parking is a nightmare in the old town....the Crown has been done up and is gorgeous with a huge car park and great for pics too....and remember it's Sunday roast not a date....so lower your expectations in terms of gourmet food....just good country gastro pub in a nice setting.....

 ok mate.....I was at the Saracens the other weekend and it was great...but you know parking there is awful....and it's lovely since the refurb too.....

That's really good of you mate thanks...can I ask how you have the connection? I might go try the others too....on Saturday maybe....
