The "Braemar Boogie Blast! 25th and/or 26th August 2012

Following the general Scottish 2013 run thread being thoroughly hijacked (by Bing !) I'm happy to take my turn as skipper for a run in the general direction of Braemar THIS August.

Given this is probably going to be a long drive & early kick off, starting & ending somewhere around Perth, with iro 7 hours driving (plus stoppage time for photos, chat, lunch & comfort breaks) I'm keen to gauge the preferences for either:

1. A long one day run on Saturday 25th - giving us all a Sunday to recover
2. A one day run on the, more traditional, Sunday 26th and to heck with Monday ( I think it might be a Bank Holiday for some anyway)
3. An overnight stop on the Saturday - B&B / camp / hotel

I'm flexible on either but probably leaning towards a long single day run.

I have two routes to propose, one a bit of a lollipop (out and back), the other more circular (thanks Nosa) taking in more of our fine scenery, in glorious August sunshine of course. I'll pm route options and gauge the favourite once a few names have confirmed.

Clearly, I will take every opportunity to relate many fascinating stories along the lines of "well the last time we drove Stelvio . . " - come on it's gotta be more interesting than brake disc banter !

Please add your name to the list below if you hope to attend and indicate your preference as above. Sorry it seems like a few usual suspects can't make it but it is summer hols time etc.

Probable attendees:

1. JaxZ4 & mrs jax ( one long single day)
2. Bing + Wee Bing
3. Nosa + A ?
4. Adamski + K
5. cj eds + ?
6. Metalicker and Mrs M
7. Andrew P

I'm in :) Kirsty will probably be riding shotgun or this one

:driving:

One day suits me best, as it's my sisters 30th on the 26th....

jaxZ4, nice one

One long day will be fine for us if that's the way it falls. Sunday to recover and spend some time with my Dad, Monday back down the road nice and early. I'll save me having to get my embarrassing tent out

EDIT - happy with a one long day Sunday drive too. B/H for me.

The weekend before the hockey season starts, so I'm up for this, not fussed about a 1 (either Sat or Sun is fine) or 2 day trip so happy to go with flow.

I'm in, Happy to go with the flow, it looks so far like a one day long run is the preference, but if the majority is for a camp out over night I am equally happy to go along with that.

Again, happy to go with the flow. Nothing quite like being indecisive and sitting on a fence. :D

Well, if we all go with the flow jaxZ4 gets to make the decision - simples :D

I'm out :(

Volunteering on the Fort William DH tracks that weekend so nae chance. See what happens when you're no longer a Z4 owner - sidelined/marginalised :P

You know that's not the case Ally -we'll expect you both back with a proper "pram top" soon ! That sounds quite fun at Fort Bill - enjoy.

You are now a Minority, so in good old british fashion that actually means your opinion is far more important than the majority.

Don't worry - I'll be back. Just feels weird missing z4-forum meets as I had 100% attendance until I missed the Portpatrick one. Fort Bill is awesome although I'm currently nursing badly bruised ribs, hip and shoulder after a BIG crash last weekend :(

Sort of like the Scottish coupe drivers then - although they just think we listen to them...

I'll still be sunning myself in the South of Italy that weekend so I guess I'm out.
Have a great run.

I still don't have my rota for my next job (starting on the 1st August!) so can't commit until I know. If I'm not working then we'll both be there! I'd be happy with an overnighter but if the general consensus is one day then I'm happy to go with that.

Better get a haircut then - never think I suit a hat !

A very good point - too shiny to hoon ? Or perhaps just bought them as posing city cars  :poke:

That said, we'd be blinded by all the recession white brightness
