Was wondering if this forum attended the Duxford Spring Car show as a group.
I was there in 2013 with the Chrysler Crossfire forum and had a really good day. I was amazed how many different car clubs attended.
I saw a few Z3's and Z4's but don't know what group they belonged to.
It would be good to have a group from here.

SHOW INFO UPDATE

Entry is through GATE 1 and opens at 9.30am. Entrance fee £10 per person (as apposed to normal £17.50) bargain :D Children under 16 free of charge.
Due to last minute additions and changes to numbers, car clubs will be allocated their pitches on the day.
Please advise your members that they will be directed to their pitches on the day by our parking marshals.
Please could you also remind your members that as we are a live airfield, dogs (unless registered disability dogs) and bbq’s are not permitted on site

This year there will be children’s face painting available and a caricaturist on the ready to draw you next to your pride and joy!!
Let’s hope the weather will be as great as it was last year!!

I went last year, but just with my missus not with a club.

I don't think this forum had a presence, although a couple of other members also went. Zroadster forum had a stand there last year I think.

Weather was amazing, I came home a lobster!

Tickets weren't cheap as you pay the normal entry fee, but you do get to go round all the museums too.

Thinking about going again this year.

Hmmm. Very tempted. Not been there since they opened the Concorde. Wee Bing may be interested too, as I don't think we're going to Silverstone this year.

I love aircraft. It's an awesome place. With beautiful cars it probably becomes pretty much perfect

I had never been before so as I like aircraft and cars and owning a Crossfire I decided to join the Crossfire stand which was a great turnout.
If your a member of a car group you get reduced admission.
It would be good to have a group of Z4's there.

As Danderton says, last year the weather was amazing.

+1. Its a great place these days too for kids. Loads of interactive stuff. Not too far away from us either!

I smell an official club meet brewing!

Btw I did post some pics of last years event. Can't link the thread on tapatalk though.

I can recommend a visit to this show (been many times and there is a wide variety of cars to see) the Museum is also wonderful if you are into engines, aeroplanes, land warfare. It is quite expensive (N.B. Bing - 15 and unders get in free) but there is so much to see you'll have difficulty seeing all in one day.

Massive Hanger 1 (Modern hanger) - amazing collection of Brit and Commonwealth designs AND go see the (fairly new) Airborne section - fabulous separate display area with amazing exhibits

Visit other separate hangers (original hangers) to view piston aircraft / maintenance /restoration / military / civilian / the old plot room is open at the back of the hangers too and a prefab and V1 - lots to see. . .

Modern design American Air Museum - another specialist museum absolutely stuffed with US airplanes - really impressive - try and enter from the top door and take a look at the remembrance glazed wall outside to get an idea of the sacrifices made

Land Warfare Museum - another massive space full of tanks and a history of land warfare including specialist section on D Day landing - sometimes tanks and vehicles running behind the building

There's likely to be something flying (as it is an active airfield) and you can even take a trip up in a Tiger Moth or Vintage Rapide ( get there early to book or try last thing)

It really is like visiting three major museums so the price is great value - to get that and a car show - it's my ideal day out!

Highly recommend a Forum visit - go display the Zeds - get in cheaper and go see everything whilst you're there - brilliant day!

I'd sort it but I live in Newcastle and only get down to my wife's family farm in the Fens occasionally through the year - not sure whether we'll be there for this show this year.

:driving:

Anyone else up for leading this? Does it need to be an official forum moderator if we were to organise a proper area/stand?

I don't know the forum rules

Ive been to Duxford for numerous air/car/model shows. You need two days to really see everything, there is so much going on there. I get there about three times a year. So I don't mind not seeing everything every time. With a car show going on it is a great day as well.
I saw the BMWCC there last year, not sure if there was a Zed presence when i was there, fantastic weather as well. But there is no flying displays on car show days.

Id be up for a Zed meet there anytime.

I have had a reply back from Duxford with an application form.
There is NO fee for a pitch. A minimum number of 5 cars.
Admission is £10 per person for car club members as apposed to the normal admission price of £17.50.

So who is up for a display of Z4's
I am prepared to organise this (although I've never done anything like this before) :o
