Right, lets settle this once and for all. I can't believe this hasn't been done already but my search didn't show anything.

There's a hell of a lot of debate on this subject so let's let the numbers speak for themselves. Get voting.

How to vote: If you had to do it all again, and money was no object, which would you go for? The Coupe or the Roadster?

This isn't a poll of what you currently have! But which you like more, taking into account the advantages and disadvatages of both.

Unfortunately E89 is not included but someone could make a E85/E86 vs E89 if they wish. But E89 owners are more than welcome to vote on which they prefer 8)
 
I vote for coupe. The main reason is that E85 roadster has soft-top roof :P (this is why I only kept mine for just over 1 year).

Now my E89 is perfect, i.e. roadster with RHT.
 
I love the looks of the coupe more than the roadster but if I were to buy one again, I'd be going for a roadster because (having owned one before) I'd miss the top down experience.

That is until I see a coupe on a forecourt in grey or blue and go weak at the knees...
 
Had an E85 Roadster which I changed for an E89 in March - which I greatly regret doing. If starting over again I would go for a v. high spec E86 Coupe.
 
I vote for the Coupe because I just got one and the double hump on roof and the sloping back makes the car look AWESOME!!!

Coming from a 330CIC MSport I will miss the drop top in the summer, however I feel the sheer beauty and exclusiveness of the coupe will make up for it in huge lumps.
 
Never understood the snobbery about coupe's - they just have a bigger boot lid than the roadster - ill leave that until i start playing golf or do regular trips to Homebase
 
As I understand it Z1 was designed as a roadster, Z3 a roadster, Z4 a roadster and that's how they should stay. I love the look of the coupe to a point but if i wanted a fast coupe there're other cars i'd choose over the Z4. (having said that i don't want a coupe so that comment is pretty pointless)

For me it can only ever be convertible and for the record if the E89 had a ragtop i'd be even more happy. I think BMW spoilt the 3 series when they tinned the convertible. I prefer the shape of the E89 over the previous Z4, sorry guys but we all have our own preference, and i don't think a ragtop would work on the e89 shape.

Life should be lived in the fresh air and under canvas.

Those of you who can't take or don't take the lid off miss so much of a beautiful world.

Roofs are great on houses and that's where they should stay ! :)
