So scrolling through Ebay and what should I find but my Zed (narrowed number plate, CF badge, AE lights, etc.) being used as the model to sell a mesh grille..

You have to laugh. I test fitted it at the factory, said 'no thanks' after discussing the idea on the board and here it is:

In case they advert is removed (that I have asked for) here's the photo and some text:

It's bad enough they made your car that ugly in the first place, then to show it to the world is a disgrace :P :lol: :poke:

I'm really suprised they've managed to sell any of these things, it just doesn't work, I've certainly never seen any Z4's on the road with it.

BTW. ever get the chance to look through your garage for spare lights? :wink: (he says after insulting your car :oops: )

Well you did not say make it 'more ugly' so you can get away with that one :rofl:

OK I have
NS Prefacelift halogen, amber insert, silver inner
OS Prefacelfit halogen, CLEAR insert, silver inner

I'd could be talked into selling either on top of which I have boxes of bits, like ballasts, xenon projectors, etc.
 
Hmm, the second one would be good, but I'd have to find another to match it, since I have amber inserts at the moment (I do want silver ones if I can get them though)
Don't fancy converting the amber one do you? :thumbsup:

Well I asked the seller nicely to remove the photo, pointing out it was not for use and got a 'no' response, asked again and got a rather less than eloquent:

Hi Thanks Again for the info please do no get hefferty and funny as this is a business not a personal matter and as i said in the last email i will remove it on the manufacture telling me that this is not there picture to use and as they have sent me all the picks and authorised me to use them in my ads i will take there advise Thanks..

Quick exchange with eBay and his listings have been removed. It could have been so much easier.... :rofl:

Welllll...darn...now you are making me feel a little silly, 'cause after looking at the picture for a while, I'm kind of liking the look. :oops:
Maybe it would be less attractive in the flesh, but I really don't think it's all that bad looking. Then again, I was called some unflattering names when I put the neon lights in the trunk too, so my taste is probably somewhat questionable. But that should go without saying since I hang out with you folks... :poke:

A few months back I posted a thread and the guys did some photshop work on it. Normal, dark, black, etc. and the resounding opinion is that it just did not work. Opinions as to why varied, but generally it was messing up the front that the current grille suited perfectly with it's series of angles and curves. Others thought it looked like a Solace (sp) :thumbsdown:

Assuming you mean that hideous Pontiac Solstice. Oh no...I don't think the Z4 could ever look that bad.

Who took the photos? If it was you then you own the copyright to them, if it was them, then they own the copyright to them and you have no case to get them to remove the said photos. That said, it is a little cheeky for them to use your car without your permission, but as said, not breaking any laws.

The manufacturer of the grille took the photo the eBayer is using, however it was on the express permision that it was to be used internally only and not for publicity and certainly not distribution to third party retailers. I agree that if someone just takes a picture of your car you have no claim to the IP for it.
 
Is that true though? If someone takes a picture of me they can not publish it without my permissions?
