To all those with remote roof operation (from key)

A question to all Roadster owners who have got their key configured to lower/raise the roof (not the Reinhold module).

Since I got mine done (plus a few other tweaks) I can't open the boot from the key - have any of you had the same?

The Indy thinks it may clash with the remote roof operation so I have to choose one or the other :o
He's not sure but will have a look when I take the car back to him.

:( I can open/shut the roof with the key but it has to be in the lock and held either on lock or unlock. Can it be done on the remote??

Mine does!

Can mine be programmed to do it, or do i have to buy a separate unit?

*AL*, you can programme yours but you'll have to go to Hull to get it done http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=97957#p97957

Another chance to big up the guys at autologic in Hull, they programmed mine and i still have remote boot operation. Mine is a 2003/53 plate if thats any use ?

Damn.

Didn't know it could be programmed by an AutoLogic unit. My indi guy has one but I have bought a module to do this.

Mine does the boot and roof down but I have to use the key in the lock to put the roof up. Can it be programmed to do roof up, down and boot?

I was going to get my key programmed for this but I noticed that the manual recommends having the engine running when lowering/raising the roof. Obviously it will not be running if you are operating it from the key. Does this cause any problems?

No problems at all, apart from looking way too cool as it opens while you walk to the car :)

In reality it likely to be to avoid flattening the battery by repeat operation and to help the motor by increased voltage

Anyone know of an autologic option in or around the South East or London?? I'm desperate to get mine re-programmed with a few changes (notably the roof, chirp and flash etc...)

Mostly yes. Except my original post above of course

It's all done via a Fischer Price look-a-like computer which has loads of settings mostly not self-explanatory. So accidently disabling the boot could've happened anywhere and the guy was happy for me to bring it back in to see if he can change it back.

If you go mention I sent you. He'll know me form the grey Z4 who had the auto roof done but lost boot functionality form the key

Have you managed to fix the boot/roof issue then? Thinking about it I had a mobile locksmith come out to get into my girlfriends 206cc and cut and program two new keys for her and he had a similar tool. It looked a bit like the red talking game ET used to 'phone home' right??? (only not in red)

Might give him a call, would be easier than a trek to Essex. Thanks for the recommendation though, i'll mention you if I end up going that way

Judging by some of the threads I read, there are a few posters on some threads, that could use one of these

Mine came with it as standard. I can lower the roof with the remote and open the boot wih it.

I can't raise the roof though
