I dunno if he is talking out of his wazoo, or not...not being expert. But thought I'd post it as it sems to explain all for the uninitiated
 
Or 6th - use an expensive one . Mine is the only car I drive at the moment, it is absolutely fantastic on the snow wheels :D
 
I was most agreeably surprised by the degree of improvement in handling and grip with the snow tyres. Jolly fun to be able to use the Z4 in winter and to keep up with the Range Rovers etc.
