Alternative to the oem BMW aux cable?

If it does fit then i'll be winging my way to whitley bay to buy one,a brief item description on the website would have been helpful and a better view of the connector plug.

The same connector is for sale on many different sites I have found. None of them say which models it fits :headbang:

Yes I think it will work, the multi plug looks like it has 10-12 pins which would be right.

There's only 3 used so need to know if they are in the right positions.

the multiplug will have the three wires on the correct positions though.

And even if it doesnt, you can pop out the pins and reconnect correctly.

However, looking at the pic, there appears to be pins in the "correct layout", so it may be worth a gamle for a tenner.

good on you.
If it don't just work, It'll only cost you a £1 more to make it fit (At most!)

Ditto! Was about to give my local stealer £37 for the BMW one but may hang fire and see if people get this one to work! Does it look like you would be able to take the pins out to combine it with the bluetooth plug as I have this?

You may need to add a couple resistors and capacitors to get your headunit to detect the AUX input. On my 2007 i can only select AUX when it detects a source and it wasnt working at first untill i found out what the problem was.

looking at the pic of the cable, I believe it has these in place, shortly after the stereo plug end. :)

Cable arrived yesterday. Looks all good with the 3 wires at the correct pin positions. Fitting it this evening, so I'll have a yay  or nay  answer today.

Nice one mate keep us posted! Is it also possible to take the pins out at the connector end so you could merge the connectors with the bluetooth plug like I have?

Cheers
