Removing centre handbrake/ gear lever trim.

Post by ph001 » Sun Oct 29, 2017 10:35 am

Hey all, I've got a few minor scratches on the piano black trim by the handbrake / gear lever. Tricky to get the DA onto it so could do with removing. Any tips on how to get it out?

You’ll need to take the whole centre console out to take it off, not difficult but time consuming. There are good guides on here for doing it.

Crikey, not something that can be done in the Corry adverts. Thanks for the links guys, think I might just have to get some elbow grease on it and do it by hand.

It's not too difficult to be honest it just seems highly unnecessary the lengths you have to go to to get to it. I can have it all off in half an hour but I've done it before so I know where all the screws and clips are.

This is a good guide to get the rear centre console off https://www.bavauto.com/media/imports/i ... ins257.pdf

Then you have screws behind the knee pads and around the middle area, handbrake off, gear stick and surround out, ash tray module out. Then the centre console comes out, flip it upside down and unscrew everything. It's a ball ache but it's doable in a fairly short amount of time.
