Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share the details of a dealer I had come across with very good prices on parts. I have bought quite a bit from Joe at Soper of Lincoln and his prices always significantly beat the one I see on here even after postage.

He's a very helpful guy, quick to respond to emails and at the end of the phone if needed. His service is the best I have come across among any BMW dealer.

I got some prices on common mods as an example - items below are all in, including delivery. Joe takes Paypal gift payments or by card over the phone if preferred:

Exterior
Standard locking wheel nuts - £17.50 delivered
McGard locking wheel nuts - £27.50 delivered
Standard black wheel nuts - 36136781150 - £35/£44 for 16/20 delivered
BMW ColorSystem Touch up sticks - £15.50 delivered
Pair of clear side indicators (without roundel badge) - 2 x 63137165734 = £31.50 delivered
Pair of clear side indicators (with roundel badge) - 2 x 63137165734 + 2 x 51147057794 = £69.75 delivered
Clear LED 3rd brake light - 63256930246 = £49.10 delivered
Clear light kit (side indicators with badges, 3rd brake and rear lights) - 63216927722 = £126.50 delivered
Strut Brace - 51710305114 = £205 delivered
Convertible Roof Covers - (54340154306 Black) or (54340300381 Grey) or (54340300387 Beige) = £75 delivered
Primed Boot Spoiler w/adhesive - 51710150784 = £122.50 delivered
Offers on wheels and tyres and up to 20% discount on hardtops (collection only from LN6 9UH).

Interior
ZHP Weighted Gear Knob (6sp) - 25117896886 = £34 delivered
ZHP Weighted Gear Knob (5sp) - 25117896031 = £39.95 delivered
M Multifunction Steering Wheel - 32307906780 = £245 (with cable 61120394848 if required £250)
Pair of retrofit cup holders - £41.25 delivered
Empty first aid box, screws and bracket - £16.95 delivered
Cruise Control Stalk - 61316940989 = £57.75 delivered
Aux-In Cable - 65120153502 = £39.40 delivered

Some great prices there I think you'll all agree - possibly even better if saving postage on multiple items. Contact details:

Joe really is a great guy, when I asked about the cruise retrofit he had emailed me the proper fitting instructions within a few minutes. I didn't even have to ask for them!

not bad prices, although i did pay £12 for a clear side indicators without badges, so £24 for both sides versus the £31.50 listed above. those were from a main dealer as well.

good find though !

Thanks - will def prove useful.

Thanks for this daveg, I've just ordered cup holders at the price above which makes the option of buying them from ebay kind of superfluous. Got a first aid box while I was at it as well. Joe's a really pleasant guy to deal with as well. I cant get my usual BMW dealer to budge on prices for parts beyond the usual 10% discount. On another BMW forum I use they have a BMW dealer parts dept giving parts quotes to members which are very poor value.

I'm seriously thinking about the retrofit cruise control but it looks a bit daunting... has anyone done this before?

Called Sopers (thanks daveg) Thursday 13.25 asking price for empty F/A box and bracket ,almost instant response and £5 cheaper than Cotswold and I didn't
even bother with my local Dealer. Incidently 14.80 inc shipping
Responded with order and paid over phone ,Joe had ordered from BMW by the time I called with card details
Result 12.10 today Friday confirmation of shipment 1st Class recorded
What outstanding service
I wonder what the rest of the Dealership is like ? anyone have experience of them ?

I had cruise retrofitted to my 06 Z4 2.5si, it cost £500.00, instructions say its should take a couple of hours tops, they sure know how to charge!!!

However wouldn't buy a car without it, all those average speed cameras out there and all

To confirm i ordered a first aid box, first aid bracket, ZHP and cruise retrofit - saved myself £35 from my local dealer.

Arrived today - so just need a dry day to get some of them fitted!

Sherlock - I put the retro-fit cruise on my 2004 Z4.
It is dead easy if it is before October 2004, plug and play. If my Z4 was post 2004 I would let my indy do it, about 15 mins to him, a few more wires to connect.
Cost of retro kit including new plastic cowl with hole ready for the stalk about £150
Local dealer wanted £350 to install, programme and test, b****cks
Nonsense, easy install, out for a test and hey presto cruise working

Tempted by cruise and ZHP...

Not sure on the M wheel yet. Is it a different colour to the OEM ones? Looks lighter and grey rather than deep black!?

Dave

mine is an 06 so I agree it does look a little more tricky on the wiring front. If not using a BMW dealer to fit would most car garages do this sort of work?

I called them today, Joe not available, spoke to another fella. ordered ZHP but it was £40.00 delivered rather than £34.00. still cheaper than my local dealer. ordered and paid over the phone will have it wednesday. great service.

If does look much more complicated then i expected - but i think the hardest part will be getting the wire from the cabin to the engine bay wired correctly.

But i'll give it a go when it gets warmer!

Id say go for it, i retroed mine a month back, It was daunting but after you sit and read the instructions a few times it becomes clearer (depending on what engine you have). it took me 3 hours to complete, but was so bloody worth it, I got 38.2 mpg @ 75mph on a cruise to Bath last weekend!unbelievable!

Here is a very good how to; http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=14699&p=233038#p233038

Glad to see others are getting some good deals - Joe must be a busy man!

Don't suppose your's is a 5 speed? Joe emailed me today to advise the original price he gave me for this part was wrong - I have updated the first post. For some reasons the 5 speed version is more expensive :?
