Saw an IR M-coupe in Bellevue, WA today and it got me all thinking about the M-coupe again. I test-drove the M-coupe this past summer and got to admit that car was pretty impressive and truly felt like a better car than the roadster. The chassis felt much stiffer and it was definitely VERY noticible. The styling has grown on me big time too. I seriously thought about trading in my roadster for the M-coupe at that time but the dealer wasn't interested in selling me one I guess - gave me a low-ball trade-in quote and insisted on only 3 grands off the MSRP when everyone else was buying the M-coupe at 9K off MSRP. Of course I've got the hardtop on my M-roadster now. I like the styling with the hardtop from the back, but from the front 3/4 angle it just looks a little weird. It's just not quite the same as the M-coupe.
Besides, I rarely take off the hardtop and put the top down anymore. I guess after 5 years, 1 Z3 & 3 Z4's, the convertible novelty has finally died for me. I honestly don't see myself getting another convertible again. And sadly at this point it just wouldn't make sense for me to get the M-coupe anymore because of the crappy resale value (thanks to BMW. ARRRGH!) and with the new Z4 just around the corner.
So who else is having a change of heart and wish he/she had gotten the coupe instead of the vert?
