How many of you have had bodywork done?

Hi all-just wondering when i was sat behind a high sided vehicle if he could see me,unless he checked his mirrors obviously not,but with our cars being so low down its made me more wary of these things(even pulling up behind a 4x4 before she decided to reverse park)-are we more prone to vehicles blind spots?
 
Andy, remove your stubby, replace with original aerial with red flag attached at the top, that will resolve your concerns. :evil:
 
I had an ignorant lorry driver DELIBERATELY move into my lane, thinking he would be clever and hinder my progress. Fortunately I stopped quickly. Unfortunately he misjudged the amount of room he had and grazed my front wing.

His insurance company are still disputing it - but I've moved on and it'll be sorted one way or another once the court date has been set :headbang:

it's a car, drive it and keep your eye's peeled and chances are you will be fine :thumbsup:
 
Andy, you should see my seats right now :p Took the girlfriend on a trip to Wales and I can still clearly see handprints on the seat, the doorcard, the window and the door outer panel, oh and the boot. Basically as long as it can be cleaned off I'm not worried. I even parked in a multistory right next to a big Jag. Way I see it, I used it as a daily so things are going to happen regardless. Most I can do is clean it weekly and sort out any minor body damage annually. If you worry about your car you won't use it for what it's there for - driving & enjoying! You can't see damage from within the car, and most people don't even notice swirl marks, let alone minor dings.

mmm-five: That's absolutely shocking! There's definitely an increase in the number of side-swipes going on :( I've never had it happen to me on purpose, but one of my friend's has had two 'attacks' in as many weeks.

Missed 1 out Boogle, dont let the girlfriend/wife shut the boot, as thier rings chip the paint,
 
My wife has a habit of shutting the boot so hard I think the front windscreen will blow out - done it with every car I've ever had. Never even considered the damage the rings might be doing. Note to self, always shut the boot myself from now on.
 
My other half either slams the door so hard I think my fillings are going to fall out or shuts it so softly that it doesn't close. no happy medium. Drives me nuts.

It was such a slow speed impact (as I'd come to a standstill) that there was no chance of injury. In fact I didn't even feel the impact, just heard the sound as his sticky-out indicator stalk and spray-guard scraped along the side of the wing.

I was almost out of the car taking photo's before he'd finished.

Car was sorted out within 2 weeks - which is fortunate for the other driver's insurance because the 'like for like' car they provided me with for 2 weeks (a lardy & thirsty e92 M3 coupe) was being charged out at £350/day (which I did challenge, but was told that it was the agreed MIB rate).
 
My worst nightmare is coming out to the parking lot and finding some huge urban assault vehicle has parked next to me. My backing out of the parking space becomes something like Russian roulette as I can't see anything until I'm halfway out. Given the speeds some people go in a lot it's a real danger.

I used to car share with the Z4 and after a week or so always made sure I closed the boot due to the way my colleague closed it. He always used the internal handle so no paint damage, but the force. :cry:

I cannot tell you how much that kind of activity makes my f*cking blood boil.....bastard lorry drivers. Especially the ones who pull into the outside lane at roadworks 600 yards before it merges...

But that picture of the lorrys position speaks a thousand words doesn't it.... I can't imagine how any insurer could dispute what had to have preceded that parking point. Good luck with getting blame 100% apportioned where its due! :thumbsup:
